Childcare centres in Cambodia are typically underfunded, and need volunteers to help provide better attention to children. You can lighten the load on local teachers and supervisors by assisting in all aspects of daily duties, helping to entertain and educate children between 2-6 years old.
You can work for up to six hours a day, helping to organise and run activities, games and lessons, as well as assisting with routine tasks such as feeding, cleaning, cooking and administration.
Most placements have a focus on education and include classes on Khmer literacy and the English language. Topics such as morality, hygiene and Khmer traditions are also discussed with the children. Some placements organise visits to the beach or local villages.
If you’re someone who loves working with children and are passionate about helping out where your support is most needed, this project will be a great choice for you.
As you will be volunteering alongside local staff, you don’t need to have any specific qualifications.Apply now
