Going into this experience I was incredibly nervous, it was my first time travelling on my own and I wanted to push myself out my comfort zone. The first few days I struggled but the local team and the other volunteers could not have been more supportive and made me feel so comfortable. I’ve made friends for life and memories I’ll cherish forever. I would 100% come back mainly for the kids, seeing them progress in their education has been the most fulfilling experience. I would definitely recommend the experience to anyone thinking about joining the program, it’s only been positive for me and I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

I had the absolute time of my whole life. The people, the culture, the love and the friendships I got to experience through this trip is something I’ll hold so close to my heart forever. Everyone is so hospitable and I met a large amount of people that I will be in contact with a long time into the future. I’ve gained new friends, and a higher level of confidence in myself. My advice for people who are hesitant is to just do it, because even though it’s daunting at first, everyone there is going through the same thing. Also being able to immerse with the local culture is something very unique to volunteer work and you won’t be able to experience visiting tourist spots.
