Volunteer In Spain And Portugal
OLÁ/HOLA! If you’ve been following the IVHQ journey, you’ll know we’re on a mission to change the face of volunteer travel. We want to share opportunities for travelers to make meaningful contributions to communities abroad, wherever in the world they choose to travel. This year, we’re excited to extend these opportunities to include Portugal and Spain!
Whether you want to contribute to conservation initiatives or community-focused projects, both destinations offer a range of volunteer opportunities for IVHQers…
Think volunteering in Portugal sounds like you? Applications are now open to join Youth Support, Food Rescue and Construction and Renovation projects in Portugal’s coastal capital of Lisbon (added bonus: our volunteer accommodation is right by the beach)! Or escape to the remote Wolf Conservation project in Mafra, where you’ll work alongside conservation center staff to assist with the day-to-day operations of the center, observing wolf behavior and assisting with education programs. IVHQers passionate about supporting marine clean-ups can join the Environmental Scuba Diving project on the south coast of Portugal with the chance to gain an Open Water Dive certification for beginners. As an IVHQer in Spain, you’ll have the opportunity to live in central Madrid, exploring the wider city while assisting on community projects including Teaching, Renovation, After School Support, Special Needs Support and Agriculture. If you’re looking to develop your Spanish skills, language lessons are available for learners of all levels at an affordable rate. Spend your weekends discovering the artistic and cultural heritage of Madrid, or venture further afield to the likes of Barcelona or Granada! Explore more about IVHQing in Spain here.
