Access to education from an early age can make a significant difference to a child’s ability and enthusiasm towards learning. By assisting teachers in Santa Elena, volunteers are able to ensure a greater quality of education in these important formative years.
You’ll be volunteering with children aged between 4-7 years old and aiding a local teacher in lessons in math, writing, reading and art lessons, as well as helping out with lunch and playtime. These are basic lessons designed to help students’ early understanding.
Classes are held in schools for either girls or those from low-income families. Class sizes vary from between 15-35 students.
This project is a great option for aspiring teachers, volunteers with no experience in planning curriculum or teaching, as well as those wishing to improve their Spanish skills. Volunteers should have a strong work ethic, commitment to collaboration and be flexible with the tasks they perform in order to be impactful on this project.Apply now
