For those with a love for sport and Physical Education, this is the perfect chance to share your passion with those in low-income parts of Quito. By helping with Physical Education classes in schools, you’re able to help local children improve their skills and develop new ones.
You’ll essentially be a volunteer sports teacher, supporting local teachers and working on your own at times to introduce students to new games, practice existing ones and improve their skills, fitness and coordination.
If you have particular skills or want to bring a sport from home to teach, you’re welcome to include that in your application. We’ll try our best to accommodate your preferences, but please be aware it may not always be possible. There are a good amount of options available in schools and your duties will also depend on your Spanish language ability.
This project is open to all volunteers with an interest in sport and education. A teaching background is not required as you will be working alongside a local teacher.
Please note this project is not available in July and August. During these times, volunteers will transfer to the School Break project, where you can assist with games and other physical activities.
