China Wrap Up Program Visit

Last week Sue Radcliffe, the volunteer programs administrator at International volunteer HQ, visited the IVHQ Volunteer in China program. Sue met with the local staff and also many volunteers on our volunteer abroad program in China. She visited the volunteer accommodations including the volunteer house, the new volunteer hostel and one of the many volunteer homestays. Sue was also able to visit one of the four great Special Needs volunteer placements we offer in China. These placements are always desperately in need of volunteers from International Volunteer HQ and as our local staff in China said "We need one volunteer for every child". All volunteers at these volunteer placements are closely assisted by the local teachers.

Frangell Basora and Alfonso Morgan-Terrero are two International Volunteer HQ volunteers currently working at the Special Needs centre and both of these volunteers were praised by the local staff - Well done guys!!

In a separate piece of news we are happy to announce the launch of our International Volunteer Newsletter. The very first edition of these monthly newsletters has been sent out today so be sure to check your inbox! With a readership base of over 26000 subscribers, this newsletter is a great tool for allowing us to keep our past, current and future volunteers up to date with what has been happening in the volunteering world. We will have volunteer updates from volunteers in the field, real stories from our local teams and what they have been doing, projects our volunteers have initiated around the world, new programs at IVHQ and special offers for the IVHQ Volunteer Abroad alumni. If you have news, a story or an article you would like to feature in this newsletter that is relevant to the IVHQ volunteer community, please contact us at

If you want to receive these IVHQ newsletters but have not yet applied to volunteer abroad with IVHQ - why not? Apply for one of our great volunteer programs today at the IVHQ Volunteer Abroad website.
