French serves as a second language in many educated communities in Morocco, and while it is considered an unofficial third language after Arabic and Berber, it is the primary language of commerce and economics in Morocco. A strong grasp of the French language is required for jobs in these sectors, but language lessons are out of reach for many people in low-income communities.
You’ll work with underprivileged children and adults, teaching French and information technology. Volunteer tasks include running small workshops, assisting local teachers and organizing educational games and activities. You can lead classes on your own or teach in volunteer pairs.
Volunteers who wish to join the Teaching French project must be fluent in French.
Volunteers are also able to teach English. If you can speak French and English, and are willing to volunteer teaching both languages, please include that in your application.
Please note this project has a minimum duration of 2 weeks.
