Vietnam Culture Week
The Culture Week is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and local life, and have extra time to bond with your fellow volunteers. You’ll also get to see some of Ho Chi Minh’s notable landmarks, visit markets and take a Vietnamese cooking class. Plus, it’s a great way to help ease any culture shock you might feel when arriving in Vietnam.

Schedule:

Monday - Begin with an orientation and introduction to the program. Take a tour of the accommodation center, campus, and the surrounding areas. Enjoy Vietnamese culture and language lessons, followed by fun bonding games with fellow participants. End the day with a group family dinner.

Tuesday - Visit iconic landmarks such as the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, and Jade Emperor Pagoda. Explore the War Remnant Museum and Ben Thanh Market before returning to the accommodation for dinner.

Wednesday - Start the morning with a trip to the local market at Pham Van Hai. Participate in a cooking class focused on traditional Vietnamese dishes, followed by a bracelet-making workshop. Return to the accommodation afterward.

Thursday - Immerse in a full-day exploration of the city's most prominent historical site - the Cu Chi Tunnels, an essential visit in Ho Chi Minh City. Gain insights into the lives of North Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War.

Friday - Get introduced to your project placement for the following week. Meet local team members and begin your initial tasks.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Important note:
  • The Culture Week is offered as an extension to your program duration and runs as a comprehensive orientation for the first 5 days of your stay. Once you complete the Culture Week, you’ll be ready to start volunteering on the following Monday. This means that if you want to volunteer for 2 weeks and you add the Culture Week to your itinerary, you’ll be hosted by the local team for a total of 3 weeks.

Day 1 – Arrive in Hanoi, Street Food Tour
Welcome to Vietnam! Touch down in Hanoi where a friendly face will greet you at the airport and whisk you off to your city centre accommodation. As night falls, you’ll meet your group for a stroll through the lively streets before diving into a feast of local flavours on a mouthwatering Hanoi food tour. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!
*As our Snapshot tours are modular, please note that you will be joining guests who have been travelling on our Vietnam Classic Tour for the past week.

Day 2 – Ha Long & Bai Tu Long Bay
Today, you’ll leave the city behind and journey to the breathtaking Bai Tu Long Bay, a World Heritage-listed wonder that’s every bit as magical as its reputation. From the harbour, board your boat and cruise between towering limestone karsts rising from emerald waters. You’ll also make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Grab a paddle and kayak around the stunning scenery of Cap La Island. Fancy a dip? As the day winds down, you’ll toast to new friends with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner on deck.
Please note: We recommend bringing a small overnight bag with only the essentials, as storage space on board is limited. Don’t worry about the rest of your luggage, it will be securely stored at your hotel in Hanoi, ready for you when you return after your overnight stay.

Day 3 – Tai Chi & Hanoi
Start your morning with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, accompanied by tea, coffee, and light pastries as the bay drifts by. Spend the rest of the morning soaking up the scenery or simply relaxing on deck before enjoying brunch on board. Around 11.30am, you’ll return to Hanoi and have some time to refresh at Hanoi Sky Hotel before being trasferred to Hanoi Railway to take the overnight train to Lao Cai tonight.

Day 4 – Arrive in Sa Pa
Arriving in Sapa in the early morning, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel to drop off your main luggage, bringing only a small overnight bag for your homestay. From there, meet your local guide and head straight to Ta Van Trek Point. Trek through the lush rice fields of Muong Hoa Valley and discover Ta Van village, where rural life moves at a slower pace, and friendly locals welcome you with warm smiles. After checking in at your homestay, enjoy some free time before sharing a delicious dinner with your hosts and experiencing an authentic night in the heart of Sapa.

Day 5 – Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your homestay. Around 9:00 AM, you’ll set out on a trek to Giang Ta Chai Village. Hike uphill to discover a beautiful waterfall and soak in breathtaking views. Giang Ta Chai is home to the Red Dao people, known for their distinctive black attire with embroidered details. You’ll enjoy lunch in the village before a steep descent. Back in Sa Pa town, you’ll check into tonights accommodation. The afternoon is yours to explore Sa Pa Town and browse the local market, immersing yourself in the local culture.
*Please note, that we advise guests to wear hiking shoes rather than trainers on this walk.

Day 6 – Sa Pa & Chasing Waterfalls
Today’s your final day in Sa Pa. After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out with your guide and car to an altitude of 1700m to visit the mesmerizing Silver Waterfall, where the Muong Hoa stream begins. Snap some stunning photos before continuing your journey through a wild forest road for about 3 km, reaching a red dirt path that winds through lush green bamboo forests. At the end of the bamboo forest, you’ll follow the stream to the breathtaking Love Waterfall. The waterfall resembles a hat from a distance, creating a picturesque scene in the vast space of mountains and forests. After soaking in the beauty of Love Waterfall, you’ll return to your car and head back to Sa Pa town to enjoy your final lunch in town.
We’ve arranged a late check-out of your accommodation today, so after lunch, you’ll have time to return to your room, freshen up and get your belongings together before your overnight train.
As the evening approaches, transfer to Lao Cai Train Station for your overnight journey to Hanoi. Grab some snacks for the night train and enjoy sharing a cabin with your travel mates.

Day 7 – Farewell to Vietnam
Your Vietnamese adventure comes to an end as you arrive in Hanoi around 5-5:30 AM. As you say goodbye at Hanoi Train Station, you’ll be filled with unforgettable memories of your journey.

Because these are in two different parts of the country, just keep in mind that you'll need to arrange your own travel and accommodation to connect the start and end of your volunteer project with the tour.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrive at any time.

Today's Activities: Your opportunity to meet your tour CEO and fellow travellers, and learn more about your tour. Opt to join the group for a local meal afterwards. Don't forget to see the notice in the lobby (or ask reception) for the official time and place to meet up with the group.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Enjoy a free day in the city of Ho Chi Minh. Spend the day checking off the stops on your must-see-list or take a day trip to the Mekong River for a boat cruise through the villages, islands, and markets of the Delta.

  • Free Time (Ho Chi Minh City): Enjoy a free day to explore Ho Chi Minh City your way!

Optional Activities - Day 2:
  • Cu Chi Tunnels Countryside Cycling Tour (Củ Chi): Meet your guide at the hotel and drive 90 minutes to the north of Ho Chi Minh City. After hopping on the bike, you'll ride beneath rows of rubber trees and past countless forest vistas that offer incredible photo opportunities. Along the way, you'll also have the opportunity to visit a rice paper making station, farmers working in the fields and taking care of their livestock and local villages. Bike until you reach the famous Cu Chi tunnel, a complex network of tunnels that the Viet Cong lived in to protect themselves from opposing forces during the Vietnam War. Try crawling through some of the tunnels (if you're not claustrophobic). These tunnels stored ammunition, had underground hospitals, and served as a hidden base for attacking allied forces. Afterwards, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Full Day Mekong River Delta Tour (Mekong Delta): Trade the city bustle of Ho Chi Minh City for the slower rural life on the Mekong Delta. Begin by exploring the peaceful Vinh Trang Pagoda, then cruise the legendary Mekong River, visiting Unicorn Island to enjoy fresh fruits and traditional music. Sample local chocolates and fresh honey tea from a bee farm. Experience local life with a peaceful rowboat ride through narrow canals, a tuktuk adventure, and a stop at a coconut candy workshop. Indulge in an optional riverside lunch before we return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City / Phnom Penh Cross the border from Vietnam to Cambodia and arrive to Phnom Penh in the afternoon. 
Enjoy a cyclo tour through the city to get acquainted with your first stop in Cambodia.

Drive to the border and cross into Cambodia. Continue on to the capital, Phnom Penh, and enjoy a cyclo ride through the city for a street-level perspective.

  • Local Bus: Ho Chi Minh City to Bavet (2h) - Climb aboard, grab a seat, and enjoy the ride.
  • Border Crossing (Vietnam - Cambodia) (Mộc Bài - Bavet): Ready for a little more ink in your passport? Grab your bags and get ready to check another country off your bucket list.
  • Phnom Penh Cyclo Tour (Phnom Penh) (45m-1h): Settle in a traditional cyclo and depart from Wat Phnom. Tour busy streets to soak up the real vibe of the city. Pass the post office and Van's restaurant, both stunning colonial buildings, and make your way to the Royal Palace and National Museum. Go along the riverside road and take in the atmospheric cafes that line the street.
  • Private Vehicle: Bavet to Phnom Penh (3h) - Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.

Day 4: Phnom Penh Take a guided tour of Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison) and Choeung Ek (Killing Fields).
Then enjoy a free afternoon to visit the Royal Palace, the National Museum or the Central Market.

Meet a local guide to learn more about the dark side of Cambodian history. Visit to Choeung Ek, the site of the infamous Killing Fields. After, visit Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison), the notorious Khmer Rouge prison where thousands of Cambodians perished.

Enjoy a free afternoon to sightsee. Opt to explore the city's many sights: the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum. With time, choose to visit the Russian Market, Wat Phnom or sip a drink at a riverside café.

  • Choeung Ek (Killing Fields) Guided Tour (Phnom Penh): Learn more about the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge visiting the killing fields of Choeung Ek; the grounds now stand as a powerful memorial filled with victims' skulls and mass graves. Tour this sombre, yet serene, site with a guide.
  • Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison) Guided Tour (Phnom Penh): Learn about the dark history and devastation that occurred at Security Prison 21 (S-21); the prison, used by the Khmer Rouge regime, is now Tuol Sleng Museum. Take a guided tour to hear the stories behind the sombre photos lining the museum walls.
  • Free Time (Phnom Penh): Use this free time to see the sights that interest you most.

Optional Activities - Day 4:
  • National Museum (Phnom Penh): 10 USD - Visit Cambodia's largest museum of culture, history, and archaeology. Tour its buildings inspired by Khmer architecture - constructed in the early 1900s, they house one of the world's largest collections of Khmer art. Visits here are well worth your time.
  • Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda Visit (Phnom Penh): 10 USD - Visit the Royal Palace, a complex of buildings where the kings of Cambodia have resided since the 1860s (except for during the reign of the Khmer Rouge). Be sure to tour the Silver Pagoda compound (aka the Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the central compound. See the many magnificent treasures inside this beautiful vihara (Buddhist monastery), including its floor lined with more 5,000 tiles of silver.
  • Russian Market (Phnom Penh): Visit the Russian Market for a selection of souvenir stalls along with jewellers and fabric sellers.
  • Wat Phnom Visit (Phnom Penh): 1 USD - Visit Wat Phnom (Hill Temple) in late afternoon, a historic monument with lots of green space. Keep an eye on your food and belongings; cheeky monkeys like to get a hold of anything they can.

Day 5: Phnom Penh / Siem Reap Drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, the home base for exploring incredible Angkor Wat.

Opt to pre-book the "Phare Circus" activity ahead of time, to include this optional on your tour.

  • Shared Van: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (6h, 320km) - Drive through the beautiful Cambodian countryside.

    Optional Activities - Day 5:
  • Phare Circus (Siem Reap): Enjoy a stellar performance by Phare, a unique and socially conscious circus that injects Cambodian culture and history into its inspiring shows. See acrobatics, contortion, and aerial arts melded with theatre, modern dance, and more. Take in stories of war, relationships, and discrimination, inspired by the real-life experiences of Phare's creators and performers.

Day 6: Siem Reap Watch the sun rise over the massive Angkor temple complex with a guided tour. 
Opt to visit the Tonlé Sap floating village and the Angkor National Museum. Enjoy a traditional meal of Khmer food.

Spend two days exploring Angkor, the former capital of the Khmer kingdom and one of the wonders of the archaeological world. See some of the highlights of this ancient capital, like sunrise at the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, the enigmatic Bayon within the walled city of Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm, also known as the 'Tomb Raider' temple.

Enjoy a traditional meal to learn about Khmer food and meet some friendly locals. Alternating locations of our included local meal means we can support multiple small businesses and projects in the area. Each experience is truly unique and memorable.

  • Angkor Wat Guided Tour (Angkor Wat): Follow a local expert through the massive grounds of Angkor Wat for 2 days. You'll have the opportunity to go in and out of the complex, resting at the hottest part of the day.
  • Free Time (Siem Reap): Enjoy free time in Siem Reap.
  • G for Good Moment: Depending on the day of the week your tour visits Siem Reap, you will either enjoy a traditional meal at the G Adventures-supported New Hope project or in a local home in a nearby village. With so many travellers coming through this area, alternating experiences helps to allow multiple small businesses to flourish. Both experiences are truly unique and memorable.
  • The New Hope Vocational Training Restaurant, an initiative kickstarted by G Adventures, provides skill-building opportunities to marginalized community members. The project also funds the adjacent free community school and health centre. Meals at Phila's house support the education of underprivileged children in the area. Visit either project - both run by locals - and see how they have supported positive change in the community.

Optional Activities - Day 6:
  • Angkor Museum Visit (Siem Reap): 12 USD - Learn about the story of Angkor and the Khmer empire at the interactive Angkor Museum. Explore the museum's inspiring galleries and interactive technology, which bring Angkor's past to life. Opt to rent an audioguide (5 USD) for the full experience.
  • Tonle Sap Floating Village (Siem Reap): 25-30 USD - Tour the floating villages of Tonlé Sap. See what life is like living on a lake - rice planting, attending churches and school, are all done on top of water. (Please note: this activity runs seasonally.)

Day 7: Siem Reap Spend another day exploring the temples of Angkor. In the afternoon, opt to going further afield in Siem Reap.

Day 2 – Ho Chi Minh City, Walking Tour & Overnight Train
The former city of Saigon is a city that never slows down, but today you'll uncover its historic heart. Along the way, you will visit the grand General Post Office, a true colonial-era gem and one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful post offices. Stroll down Rue Catinat, where you’ll pass elegant French colonial buildings, admire the restored Opera House, and see the Reunification Palace with its bold 60’s design. You’ll also stop by the People’s Committee Building and the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, inspired by its Parisian namesake. After a refresh at the hotel, you’ll head to the station and board your overnight train to Da Nang.

Day 3 – Kayak into Hoi An
Upon arrival, you'll be whisked away by our team to the banks of the Thu Bon River for an unforgettable adventure. After a quick lunch, get ready for a truly one-of-a-kind experience - kayaking directly into the heart of Hoi An! This extraordinary entrance to the ancient town sets the tone for your entire visit. You’ll learn how this simple yet powerful initiative prevents pollution, supports local women and youth with extra income, and protects Hoi An’s natural environment. After experiencing the impact for yourself (and even washing your hands with your creation), the afternoon is all yours. Hit the beach or keep exploring Hoi An’s charms.

Day 5 – To Hue & Hai Van Pass
Fuel up with breakfast, then get ready for a road trip to Hue in true style. You’ll journey up the iconic Hai Van Pass, famous for its sweeping coastal views and winding mountain roads. Along the way, stop at a hidden waterfall, enjoy lunch, and cruise through charming countryside backroads. By afternoon, you’ll roll into Hue, the historic Imperial City and former seat of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Day 6 – The Imperial City, Hue
This morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and head to Thuy Bieu village, taking in Hue’s beauty from a fresh perspective. Wander through the village, visit Luong Quan communal house, and explore the hundred-year-old garden home of Ho Xuan Dai, where you’ll join a hands-on cooking class. After a stop at the local market to learn about traditional ingredients, your host will guide you through preparing Hue’s signature dishes before you sit down to enjoy your creations. In the afternoon, step into history at the Imperial Citadel, then visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery and one of Hue’s most enduring symbols. Return to the hotel for a short rest before boarding the night train to Ninh Binh.

Day 7 – To Pu Luong Park
Today, you’ll travel to Pu Luong National Park, one of Vietnam’s most stunning natural landscapes. Along the way, stop at the peaceful Chua Ngoc Chau Temple where you'll have some lunch before continuing to Don village, where you’ll settle into your traditional homestay. After a short rest, take a guided walk through the village, meet friendly locals, and visit the nearby embroidering village to see skilled artisans at work. This is rural Vietnam at its most authentic and tonight, you’ll experience it firsthand with a cosy homestay in the heart of the mountains.

Day 8 – Explore Pu Luong Park
After breakfast, you will trek through Pu Luong's lush landscapes to a hidden gem – a traditional bamboo lake house where crystal-clear waters invite you for a swim. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature. Spend your afternoon learning about rural life or simply soaking in the tranquility before a final family style dinner.

Day 9 – To Hanoi
Today you'll say goodbye to your homestay family and depart Pu Luong for Hanoi after a leisurely morning and breakfast. Upon afternoon arrival, check into your boutique hotel in the city center. In the evening, experience Hanoi's renowned culinary scene on a guided street food tour, sampling local specialties and hidden gems.

Day 10 – Ha Long Bay & Bai Tu Long Bay
Today, you’ll leave the city behind and journey to the breathtaking Bai Tu Long Bay, a World Heritage-listed wonder that’s every bit as magical as its reputation. From the harbour, board your boat and cruise between towering limestone karsts rising from emerald waters. You'll also make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Grab a paddle and kayak around the stunning scenery of Cap La Island. Fancy a dip? As the day winds down, you'll toast to new friends with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner on deck.
Please note: We recommend bringing a small overnight bag with only the essentials, as storage space on board is limited. Don’t worry about the rest of your luggage, it will be securely stored at your hotel in Hanoi, ready for you when you return after your overnight stay.

Day 11 – Bai Tu Long Bay to Hanoi
Start your morning with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, accompanied by tea, coffee, and light pastries as the bay drifts by. Spend the rest of the morning soaking up the scenery or simply relaxing on deck before enjoying brunch on board. Around 11.30am, you’ll return to Hanoi and check into your hotel, with the rest of the day free to explore the city at your own pace.

Day 12 – Depart
Today is where we say goodbye! Your tour guide will help arrange your onward travel (at own expense).

Day 12 - Arrive in Sa Pa
Arriving in Sa Pa in the early morning, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel to drop off your main luggage, bringing only a small overnight bag for your homestay. From there, meet your local guide and head straight to Ta Van Trek Point. Trek through the lush rice fields of Muong Hoa Valley and discover Ta Van village, where rural life moves at a slower pace, and friendly locals welcome you with warm smiles. After checking in at your homestay, enjoy some free time before sharing a delicious dinner with your hosts and experiencing an authentic night in the heart of Sapa.

Day 13 – Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your homestay. Around 9:00 AM, you’ll set out on a trek to Giang Ta Chai Village. Hike uphill to discover a beautiful waterfall and soak in breathtaking views. Giang Ta Chai is home to the Red Dao people, known for their distinctive black attire with embroidered details. You’ll enjoy lunch in the village before a steep descent.
Back in Sa Pa town, you’ll check into tonights accommodation. The afternoon is yours to explore Sa Pa Town and browse the local market, immersing yourself in the local culture.
*Please note, that we advise guests to wear hiking shoes rather than trainers on this walk.

Day 14 – Sa Pa & Chasing Waterfalls
Today’s your final day in Sa Pa. After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out with your guide and car to an altitude of 1700m to visit the mesmerizing Silver Waterfall, where the Muong Hoa stream begins. Snap some stunning photos before continuing your journey through a wild forest road for about 3 km, reaching a red dirt path that winds through lush green bamboo forests. At the end of the bamboo forest, you’ll follow the stream to the breathtaking Love Waterfall. The waterfall resembles a hat from a distance, creating a picturesque scene in the vast space of mountains and forests. After soaking in the beauty of Love Waterfall, you’ll return to your car and head back to Sa Pa town to enjoy your final lunch in town.
We’ve arranged a late check-out of your accommodation today, so after lunch, you’ll have time to return to your room, freshen up and get your belongings together before your overnight train.
As the evening approaches, transfer to Lao Cai Train Station for your overnight journey to Hanoi. Grab some snacks for the night train and enjoy sharing a cabin with your travel mates.

Day 15 – Farewell to Vietnam
Your Vietnamese adventure comes to an end as you arrive in Hanoi around 5-5:30 AM. As you say goodbye at Hanoi Train Station, you’ll be filled with unforgettable memories of your journey.

Vietnam Culture Week
The Culture Week is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and local life, and have extra time to bond with your fellow volunteers. You’ll also get to see some of Ho Chi Minh’s notable landmarks, visit markets and take a Vietnamese cooking class. Plus, it’s a great way to help ease any culture shock you might feel when arriving in Vietnam.

Schedule:

Monday - Begin with an orientation and introduction to the program. Take a tour of the accommodation center, campus, and the surrounding areas. Enjoy Vietnamese culture and language lessons, followed by fun bonding games with fellow participants. End the day with a group family dinner.

Tuesday - Visit iconic landmarks such as the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, and Jade Emperor Pagoda. Explore the War Remnant Museum and Ben Thanh Market before returning to the accommodation for dinner.

Wednesday - Start the morning with a trip to the local market at Pham Van Hai. Participate in a cooking class focused on traditional Vietnamese dishes, followed by a bracelet-making workshop. Return to the accommodation afterward.

Thursday - Immerse in a full-day exploration of the city's most prominent historical site - the Cu Chi Tunnels, an essential visit in Ho Chi Minh City. Gain insights into the lives of North Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War.

Friday - Get introduced to your project placement for the following week. Meet local team members and begin your initial tasks.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Important note:
  • The Culture Week is offered as an extension to your program duration and runs as a comprehensive orientation for the first 5 days of your stay. Once you complete the Culture Week, you’ll be ready to start volunteering on the following Monday. This means that if you want to volunteer for 2 weeks and you add the Culture Week to your itinerary, you’ll be hosted by the local team for a total of 3 weeks.

Day 1 – Arrive in Hanoi, Street Food Tour
Welcome to Vietnam! Touch down in Hanoi where a friendly face will greet you at the airport and whisk you off to your city centre accommodation. As night falls, you’ll meet your group for a stroll through the lively streets before diving into a feast of local flavours on a mouthwatering Hanoi food tour. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!
*As our Snapshot tours are modular, please note that you will be joining guests who have been travelling on our Vietnam Classic Tour for the past week.

Day 2 – Ha Long & Bai Tu Long Bay
Today, you’ll leave the city behind and journey to the breathtaking Bai Tu Long Bay, a World Heritage-listed wonder that’s every bit as magical as its reputation. From the harbour, board your boat and cruise between towering limestone karsts rising from emerald waters. You’ll also make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Grab a paddle and kayak around the stunning scenery of Cap La Island. Fancy a dip? As the day winds down, you’ll toast to new friends with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner on deck.
Please note: We recommend bringing a small overnight bag with only the essentials, as storage space on board is limited. Don’t worry about the rest of your luggage, it will be securely stored at your hotel in Hanoi, ready for you when you return after your overnight stay.

Day 3 – Tai Chi & Hanoi
Start your morning with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, accompanied by tea, coffee, and light pastries as the bay drifts by. Spend the rest of the morning soaking up the scenery or simply relaxing on deck before enjoying brunch on board. Around 11.30am, you’ll return to Hanoi and have some time to refresh at Hanoi Sky Hotel before being trasferred to Hanoi Railway to take the overnight train to Lao Cai tonight.

Day 4 – Arrive in Sa Pa
Arriving in Sapa in the early morning, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel to drop off your main luggage, bringing only a small overnight bag for your homestay. From there, meet your local guide and head straight to Ta Van Trek Point. Trek through the lush rice fields of Muong Hoa Valley and discover Ta Van village, where rural life moves at a slower pace, and friendly locals welcome you with warm smiles. After checking in at your homestay, enjoy some free time before sharing a delicious dinner with your hosts and experiencing an authentic night in the heart of Sapa.

Day 5 – Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your homestay. Around 9:00 AM, you’ll set out on a trek to Giang Ta Chai Village. Hike uphill to discover a beautiful waterfall and soak in breathtaking views. Giang Ta Chai is home to the Red Dao people, known for their distinctive black attire with embroidered details. You’ll enjoy lunch in the village before a steep descent. Back in Sa Pa town, you’ll check into tonights accommodation. The afternoon is yours to explore Sa Pa Town and browse the local market, immersing yourself in the local culture.
*Please note, that we advise guests to wear hiking shoes rather than trainers on this walk.

Day 6 – Sa Pa & Chasing Waterfalls
Today’s your final day in Sa Pa. After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out with your guide and car to an altitude of 1700m to visit the mesmerizing Silver Waterfall, where the Muong Hoa stream begins. Snap some stunning photos before continuing your journey through a wild forest road for about 3 km, reaching a red dirt path that winds through lush green bamboo forests. At the end of the bamboo forest, you’ll follow the stream to the breathtaking Love Waterfall. The waterfall resembles a hat from a distance, creating a picturesque scene in the vast space of mountains and forests. After soaking in the beauty of Love Waterfall, you’ll return to your car and head back to Sa Pa town to enjoy your final lunch in town.
We’ve arranged a late check-out of your accommodation today, so after lunch, you’ll have time to return to your room, freshen up and get your belongings together before your overnight train.
As the evening approaches, transfer to Lao Cai Train Station for your overnight journey to Hanoi. Grab some snacks for the night train and enjoy sharing a cabin with your travel mates.

Day 7 – Farewell to Vietnam
Your Vietnamese adventure comes to an end as you arrive in Hanoi around 5-5:30 AM. As you say goodbye at Hanoi Train Station, you’ll be filled with unforgettable memories of your journey.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrive at any time.

Today's Activities: Your opportunity to meet your tour CEO and fellow travellers, and learn more about your tour. Opt to join the group for a local meal afterwards. Don't forget to see the notice in the lobby (or ask reception) for the official time and place to meet up with the group.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Enjoy a free day in the city of Ho Chi Minh. Spend the day checking off the stops on your must-see-list or take a day trip to the Mekong River for a boat cruise through the villages, islands, and markets of the Delta.

Optional Activities - Day 2:
  • Cu Chi Tunnels Countryside Cycling Tour (Củ Chi): Meet your guide at the hotel and drive 90 minutes to the north of Ho Chi Minh City. After hopping on the bike, you'll ride beneath rows of rubber trees and past countless forest vistas that offer incredible photo opportunities. Along the way, you'll also have the opportunity to visit a rice paper making station, farmers working in the fields and taking care of their livestock and local villages. Bike until you reach the famous Cu Chi tunnel, a complex network of tunnels that the Viet Cong lived in to protect themselves from opposing forces during the Vietnam War. Try crawling through some of the tunnels (if you're not claustrophobic). These tunnels stored ammunition, had underground hospitals, and served as a hidden base for attacking allied forces. Afterwards, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Full Day Mekong River Delta Tour (Mekong Delta): Trade the city bustle of Ho Chi Minh City for the slower rural life on the Mekong Delta. Begin by exploring the peaceful Vinh Trang Pagoda, then cruise the legendary Mekong River, visiting Unicorn Island to enjoy fresh fruits and traditional music. Sample local chocolates and fresh honey tea from a bee farm. Experience local life with a peaceful rowboat ride through narrow canals, a tuktuk adventure, and a stop at a coconut candy workshop. Indulge in an optional riverside lunch before we return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City / Phnom Penh Cross the border from Vietnam to Cambodia and arrive to Phnom Penh in the afternoon. 
Enjoy a cyclo tour through the city to get acquainted with your first stop in Cambodia.

Drive to the border and cross into Cambodia. Continue on to the capital, Phnom Penh, and enjoy a cyclo ride through the city for a street-level perspective.

  • Border Crossing (Vietnam - Cambodia) (Mộc Bài - Bavet): Ready for a little more ink in your passport? Grab your bags and get ready to check another country off your bucket list.
  • Phnom Penh Cyclo Tour (Phnom Penh) (45m-1h): Settle in a traditional cyclo and depart from Wat Phnom. Tour busy streets to soak up the real vibe of the city. Pass the post office and Van's restaurant, both stunning colonial buildings, and make your way to the Royal Palace and National Museum. Go along the riverside road and take in the atmospheric cafes that line the street.
  • Private Vehicle: Bavet to Phnom Penh (3h) - Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.

Day 4: Phnom Penh Take a guided tour of Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison) and Choeung Ek (Killing Fields).
Then enjoy a free afternoon to visit the Royal Palace, the National Museum or the Central Market.

Meet a local guide to learn more about the dark side of Cambodian history. Visit to Choeung Ek, the site of the infamous Killing Fields. After, visit Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison), the notorious Khmer Rouge prison where thousands of Cambodians perished.

Enjoy a free afternoon to sightsee. Opt to explore the city's many sights: the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum. With time, choose to visit the Russian Market, Wat Phnom or sip a drink at a riverside café.

  • Choeung Ek (Killing Fields) Guided Tour (Phnom Penh): Learn more about the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge visiting the killing fields of Choeung Ek; the grounds now stand as a powerful memorial filled with victims' skulls and mass graves. Tour this sombre, yet serene, site with a guide.
  • Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 Prison) Guided Tour (Phnom Penh): Learn about the dark history and devastation that occurred at Security Prison 21 (S-21); the prison, used by the Khmer Rouge regime, is now Tuol Sleng Museum. Take a guided tour to hear the stories behind the sombre photos lining the museum walls.
  • Free Time (Phnom Penh): Use this free time to see the sights that interest you most.

Optional Activities - Day 4:
  • National Museum (Phnom Penh): 10 USD - Visit Cambodia's largest museum of culture, history, and archaeology. Tour its buildings inspired by Khmer architecture - constructed in the early 1900s, they house one of the world's largest collections of Khmer art. Visits here are well worth your time.
  • Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda Visit (Phnom Penh): 10 USD - Visit the Royal Palace, a complex of buildings where the kings of Cambodia have resided since the 1860s (except for during the reign of the Khmer Rouge). Be sure to tour the Silver Pagoda compound (aka the Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the central compound. See the many magnificent treasures inside this beautiful vihara (Buddhist monastery), including its floor lined with more 5,000 tiles of silver.
  • Russian Market (Phnom Penh): Visit the Russian Market for a selection of souvenir stalls along with jewellers and fabric sellers.
  • Wat Phnom Visit (Phnom Penh): 1 USD - Visit Wat Phnom (Hill Temple) in late afternoon, a historic monument with lots of green space. Keep an eye on your food and belongings; cheeky monkeys like to get a hold of anything they can.

Day 5: Phnom Penh / Siem Reap Drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, the home base for exploring incredible Angkor Wat.

Opt to pre-book the "Phare Circus" activity ahead of time, to include this optional on your tour.

Day 6: Siem Reap Watch the sun rise over the massive Angkor temple complex with a guided tour. 
Opt to visit the Tonlé Sap floating village and the Angkor National Museum. Enjoy a traditional meal of Khmer food.

Spend two days exploring Angkor, the former capital of the Khmer kingdom and one of the wonders of the archaeological world. See some of the highlights of this ancient capital, like sunrise at the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, the enigmatic Bayon within the walled city of Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm, also known as the 'Tomb Raider' temple.

  • The New Hope Vocational Training Restaurant, an initiative kickstarted by G Adventures, provides skill-building opportunities to marginalized community members. The project also funds the adjacent free community school and health centre. Meals at Phila's house support the education of underprivileged children in the area. Visit either project - both run by locals - and see how they have supported positive change in the community.

Optional Activities - Day 6:
  • Angkor Museum Visit (Siem Reap): 12 USD - Learn about the story of Angkor and the Khmer empire at the interactive Angkor Museum. Explore the museum's inspiring galleries and interactive technology, which bring Angkor's past to life. Opt to rent an audioguide (5 USD) for the full experience.
  • Tonle Sap Floating Village (Siem Reap): 25-30 USD - Tour the floating villages of Tonlé Sap. See what life is like living on a lake - rice planting, attending churches and school, are all done on top of water. (Please note: this activity runs seasonally.)

Day 7: Siem Reap Spend another day exploring the temples of Angkor. In the afternoon, opt to going further afield in Siem Reap.

Day 5 – To Hue & Hai Van Pass

Day 6 – The Imperial City, Hue
This morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and head to Thuy Bieu village, taking in Hue’s beauty from a fresh perspective. Wander through the village, visit Luong Quan communal house, and explore the hundred-year-old garden home of Ho Xuan Dai, where you’ll join a hands-on cooking class. After a stop at the local market to learn about traditional ingredients, your host will guide you through preparing Hue’s signature dishes before you sit down to enjoy your creations. In the afternoon, step into history at the Imperial Citadel, then visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery and one of Hue’s most enduring symbols. Day 7 – To Pu Luong Park
Today, you’ll travel to Pu Luong National Park, one of Vietnam’s most stunning natural landscapes. Along the way, stop at the peaceful Chua Ngoc Chau Temple where you'll have some lunch before continuing to Don village, where you’ll settle into your traditional homestay. After a short rest, take a guided walk through the village, meet friendly locals, and visit the nearby embroidering village to see skilled artisans at work. This is rural Vietnam at its most authentic and tonight, you’ll experience it firsthand with a cosy homestay in the heart of the mountains.

Day 8 – Explore Pu Luong Park
After breakfast, you will trek through Pu Luong's lush landscapes to a hidden gem – a traditional bamboo lake house where crystal-clear waters invite you for a swim. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature. Spend your afternoon learning about rural life or simply soaking in the tranquility before a final family style dinner.

Day 9 – To Hanoi
Today you'll say goodbye to your homestay family and depart Pu Luong for Hanoi after a leisurely morning and breakfast. Upon afternoon arrival, check into your boutique hotel in the city center. In the evening, experience Hanoi's renowned culinary scene on a guided street food tour, sampling local specialties and hidden gems.

Day 10 – Ha Long Bay & Bai Tu Long Bay
Today, you’ll leave the city behind and journey to the breathtaking Bai Tu Long Bay, a World Heritage-listed wonder that’s every bit as magical as its reputation. From the harbour, board your boat and cruise between towering limestone karsts rising from emerald waters. You'll also make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Grab a paddle and kayak around the stunning scenery of Cap La Island. Fancy a dip? As the day winds down, you'll toast to new friends with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner on deck.
Please note: We recommend bringing a small overnight bag with only the essentials, as storage space on board is limited. Don’t worry about the rest of your luggage, it will be securely stored at your hotel in Hanoi, ready for you when you return after your overnight stay.

Day 11 – Bai Tu Long Bay to Hanoi
Start your morning with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, accompanied by tea, coffee, and light pastries as the bay drifts by. Spend the rest of the morning soaking up the scenery or simply relaxing on deck before enjoying brunch on board. Around 11.30am, you’ll return to Hanoi and check into your hotel, with the rest of the day free to explore the city at your own pace.

Day 12 – Depart

Day 12 - Arrive in Sa Pa
Arriving in Sa Pa in the early morning, you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel to drop off your main luggage, bringing only a small overnight bag for your homestay. From there, meet your local guide and head straight to Ta Van Trek Point. Trek through the lush rice fields of Muong Hoa Valley and discover Ta Van village, where rural life moves at a slower pace, and friendly locals welcome you with warm smiles. After checking in at your homestay, enjoy some free time before sharing a delicious dinner with your hosts and experiencing an authentic night in the heart of Sapa.

Day 13 – Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your homestay. Around 9:00 AM, you’ll set out on a trek to Giang Ta Chai Village. Hike uphill to discover a beautiful waterfall and soak in breathtaking views. Giang Ta Chai is home to the Red Dao people, known for their distinctive black attire with embroidered details. You’ll enjoy lunch in the village before a steep descent.
Back in Sa Pa town, you’ll check into tonights accommodation. The afternoon is yours to explore Sa Pa Town and browse the local market, immersing yourself in the local culture.
*Please note, that we advise guests to wear hiking shoes rather than trainers on this walk.

Day 14 – Sa Pa & Chasing Waterfalls
Today’s your final day in Sa Pa. After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out with your guide and car to an altitude of 1700m to visit the mesmerizing Silver Waterfall, where the Muong Hoa stream begins. Snap some stunning photos before continuing your journey through a wild forest road for about 3 km, reaching a red dirt path that winds through lush green bamboo forests. At the end of the bamboo forest, you’ll follow the stream to the breathtaking Love Waterfall. The waterfall resembles a hat from a distance, creating a picturesque scene in the vast space of mountains and forests. After soaking in the beauty of Love Waterfall, you’ll return to your car and head back to Sa Pa town to enjoy your final lunch in town.
We’ve arranged a late check-out of your accommodation today, so after lunch, you’ll have time to return to your room, freshen up and get your belongings together before your overnight train.
As the evening approaches, transfer to Lao Cai Train Station for your overnight journey to Hanoi. Grab some snacks for the night train and enjoy sharing a cabin with your travel mates.

Day 15 – Farewell to Vietnam
Your Vietnamese adventure comes to an end as you arrive in Hanoi around 5-5:30 AM. As you say goodbye at Hanoi Train Station, you’ll be filled with unforgettable memories of your journey.
