Local NGOs in Croatia are increasingly focused on raising public awareness of environmental and social issues, and this can only be achieved by running successful awareness campaigns. As a volunteer on the Creative Technologies project, you’ll use your technical and marketing skills to create campaigns that encourage the local community to take action in their own surroundings.
Your volunteer experience can be catered for your expertise, and include web design, illustration, photography, videography, marketing and communications. Depending on the need for these skills, you could be helping NGOs that focus on women’s rights, gender equality, marine conservation, environmental issues or animal protection.
You’ll help to support these causes by creating infographics, brochures, posters, animations, videos, announcements and photos. Volunteers can also get direct experience helping your NGO with its core work, as your experience helping with their overall mission will help with the understanding of creating content.
Longer term volunteers may also have the opportunity to help renew the visual representation of the NGO in relation to their website, logos or other graphic items.
If you want to volunteer with an NGO in a particular field, please note this in your application and we’ll do our best to place you in that area. NGOs generally won’t have an abundance of resources available, so you should bring your own laptop, design software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent) and/or camera equipment. Volunteers will be required to have prior skills, so please ensure you include all relevant qualifications and/or experience in your application.
