About Gabby!
Hi everyone! I’m Gabby and I’m just your average girl that gained a passion for traveling while in college!! I attended Clemson University with a major in Business Marketing, and also was on the dance team for 4 years. I just now graduated in May of 2025 and am ready to take on the world. Disregarding everything about my regular normal life, I always had that itch to travel. I never thought it would be something I would ever want to pursue long term, but I was wrong!
Since I was an athlete in college, there was never time to travel during the school year, so I did a 2 week study abroad program within Clemson the summer going into my junior year of college. I did one week in London, one week in Paris, and finished with 2 weeks of vaca in Greece for fun! Ever since then, I knew I needed more. That fall, I was researching and doing everything in my power to find something else to do the following summer (and I knew I couldn’t study abroad again because it was so expensive and I had already lived out my abroad experience.. which was fair). I came across IVHQ and long story short, after tons of research and convincing my parents, I did my first volunteer program last summer. The project I did was childcare in Arusha, Tanzania and I initially applied for 3 weeks but ended up staying for 6 because I just wasn’t ready to leave yet.

Coming across IVHQ was so special for me. Everything about my life changed on that trip and I realized how lucky and precious this life we live is. Giving back and caring for all the children over there while creating so many friendships in the volunteer houses was something I will never forget. So special, that I reached out to IVHQ after my trip to tell them about my love and passion for social media/traveling.
This October I will be hosting a group trip with IVHQ in Zambia, Africa volunteering with children! I’m super grateful for this opportunity and if you’re looking for a chance to give back and help others in need, register for my group trip so we can make a difference together.

Why Should You Volunteer Abroad with IVHQ
If you’re someone who has a strong sense of advocacy and loves to discover and travel like me, then volunteering abroad is the best way to do it! You get to travel to your dream destinations, discover rich cuisine, and learn about local traditions and languages, all while being able to give back to communities in need.
It’s a truly fulfilling experience!
I know that sometimes it can be scary to do it, especially when you’re alone. That’s why I always volunteer abroad with IVHQ. They take the time to do all of the hard work for you to make sure you stay safe. They arrange your accommodation, itinerary, program schedule, and airport pick-up. They also have 24/7 in-country support, so you’ll never feel alone!
Plus, so many other volunteers join solo! So it’s perfect for you to make new friends you’ll keep for life.
IVHQ also has many program add-ons to maximize your stay in Africa! From African wildlife safaris, hiking through the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to visiting local villages, you can immerse yourself and experience a whole new world while making a difference!
