The entire process with IVHQ was absolutely incredible! From booking right through to arriving home I was support by IVHQ. I would recommend it to anyone, no matter how old you are. One of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had the pleasure of living in my life. The local team in Tanzania were so incredible, they felt like family. You were supported every step of the way and never felt alone, if you are worried about going by yourself and being alone - don't be! The volunteer accommodation was great, I made the greatest of friends, it's everything you imagine it to be and more. My advice - however long you are planning to go for, it won't be enough!

What recent volunteers said about their IVHQ experience
I feel like I gained a greater insight to the culture within Tanzania, I have gained confidence in myself and satisfaction in what I achieved in my time away.
The advice I would give to someone who was hesitant would be to do it! It’s an experience that will stay with me for ever.
I gained confidence to travel alone, I learnt so much about another culture, I enjoyed helping and learning about the lives of the people I was helping. It showed me how much need some parts of the world are in for help and has made me want to continue working as a volunteer because I know how necessary it is now to give help when you can.
If someone was hesitant, I would encourage them to pursue volunteering with IVHQ because it's a way of safely travelling and volunteering the world alone. Though it was scary, I knew I was safe because there was always someone to reach out to whilst I was in Tanzania and logistical things had all been taken care of in the preparation package.
This was such a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience that truly expanded our students' perspectives and worldview. The program was safe, well-structured, and rewarding. I always felt like we were in good hands and had a team we could rely on should any challenging situations arise. For folks who are feeling hesitant, I would simply tell them that they are in good hands and they will be fully supported in their experience.
