Honestly, it was the best experience of my life! I was a bit hesitant at first because I was going to Tanzania, Africa by myself (25 years old), but IVHQ provided SO much support. The best part was their add-ons (e.g. safaris, hot springs, trekking, markets) that were a lot cheaper than many other organisations and everything was always so organised. Similarly, being in the volunteer houses, I made lifelong friends and even became familiar with the locals. Personally, I would highly recommend the Mt Kilimanjaro Trek if you're an adrenaline junkie because it was the most exhilarating experience! Overall, I will 1000% be doing another volunteering program through IVHQ and words cannot describe how much I want to go back!

What recent volunteers said about their IVHQ experience
I feel as if I have gained a broadened perspective on the ways others live their lives. I also feel I was given many opportunities to give back in ways beyond my volunteer project. This includes a women’s outreach program that enabled me to meet other women in vulnerable positions and give them supplies to help them get back on their feet. The excursions I went on such as safaris allowed me to explore parts of Tanzania beyond the local town and to connect with the other volunteers on a deeper level.
Through this project, you’re given the opportunity to provide the local women a safe and healthy place to go. These young women I’ve met have shown me exactly what bravery, resilience, love and gratitude means. I am forever grateful and my heart is warm.
The IVHQ program to Tanzania for childcare volunteering was everything and more! Arusha is such a beautiful place with so much to explore. The add-on experiences are essential as they showed me everything Arusha had to offer. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. The mamas prepared beautiful meals and there were also so many places to eat out.
Most importantly, I had the best childcare centre! They were so grateful for our support, did not ask for anything in return and welcomed us with open arms. The kids were beautiful, I particularly enjoyed working with some of the older children too, which I wasn’t expecting.
Overall, this was a life changing experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I think everyone should experience the beauty of Tanzania and the joy of these children.
