Learn how the IVHQ Crew are volunteering from home and how you can too!
From a community of over 37,000 international volunteers, Colorado’s Cara Lawler has been voted the IVHQ Volunteer of the Year for her dedication to building a more self-sufficient and permanent home for the children of El Shadai Grace Children’s Centre in Kenya.
Since 2007, IVHQ has placed more than 80,000 volunteers abroad, contributing a total of over 4 million volunteer hours to communities around the world. So what makes our volunteer abroad programs the best of the rest? It comes down to a few simple things…
After 16 hours of flying from New Zealand, I’ve touched down in Nepal with Ben Brown (IVHQ Risk and Responsible Volunteering Travel Manager) and Ashlee Bishop (IVHQ Nepal Program Coordinator) excited for a week of work with Bijen and our local Nepalese staff here in Kathmandu.
IVHQ may be the world’s largest volunteer travel company, but we’re based in a small town here in New Zealand and supporting local community initiatives is important to us.
International Volunteer HQ is proud to share that Kristian Braeuer (AUS), Carolyn Eggart (USA), Hana Kitamura (AUS), Cara Lawler (USA), Zac Lanza (UK) and Vin Kebblewhite (AUS) are the IVHQ volunteers who have been selected as finalists for the 2014 IVHQ Volunteer of the Year Awards.
