From my volunteer experience I think I gained a lot of knowledge about the culture and way of live in Ventanilla, whether through the food, people, etc! I also learned a lot about the ways to help conserve the sea turtle population. It was really cool to work with the baby sea turtles as well as to see the Arribada happening. The advice I would give to someone if they were to join this program is to enjoy being in a new place and getting to experience a new culture. Also reach out more and ask what else you can do to help while your volunteering because it seemed like we had to take more initiative if we wanted to participate in some of the volunteering activities, but overall I really loved this volunteering experince!
