If you would like to arrive a day earlier than your recommended arrival date, or wish to spend a few extra nights after finishing your program, we can arrange extra nights of accommodation for you with meals included, subject to availability.

Please note, when you upgrade to a private room and require extra nights in the same room, the cost of the extra night is also US$35 per person, per night.

Early morning, departing from the volunteer house, after an hour drive you will arrive to Kazungula for a border stop where you shall do your passport formalities for both Zambian (if applicable) and Botswana. After short briefing about the activity, the guide on the Botswana side will decide either to start with a game drive, lunch then river safari cruise or the other way round.

This is an incredible opportunity to see wildlife in the park besides elephants, such as African painted dog, blue wildebeest, cape buffalo, civet, crocodile, giraffe, hippo, hyena, leopard, lion, puku (a type of antelope), savanna elephant, tsessebe, zebra, and much more.

To take part on this tour, some nationalities may be required to have a tourist visa to enter Botswana. For more information on visa and visa processes, please contact your nearest Botswana embassy or check the Botswana website. To be able to re-enter Zambia at the end of the tour, a Double or Multiple Entry Visa is recommended rather than a Single Entry Visa, depending on how many time you intend to re-enter the country.

The Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park encompasses the Victoria Falls in Zambia Livingstone and stretches some 12 kilometers along the riverbanks of the upper Zambezi River. White rhino, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, zebra and several antelope species flourish here. Elephant also often visit the park. This tour sets off in the morning and afternoon and lasts about 3 hours.

Important note: The price is quoted for 2 or more volunteers taking part on the tour. If there are only one volunteer taking part on the tour, the cost will be higher. Any difference will need to be paid directly to the local team in-country before starting the tour. You will be notified at your program orientation if there is any extra amount to be paid. Early wake up for a full day safari departing from the volunteer house. Bordering with Zambia, Botswana is home to one third of all the African elephants. Wildlife such as lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo and giraffes can also be seeing on land on bord of the open game drive vehicle.

Be welcomed into the home of a local and hear their insights into Zambia’s traditions and culture as you gain hands-on experience preparing nshima, the region’s staple dish. When it’s ready, take part in a cleansing ceremony and then dine on the product of your labors together, paired with a veggie or meat relish of your choice. This tour takes about 2 hours.
