Peru’s Amazon rainforest is an incredible place to visit - full of wildlife and raw landscapes but facing its own set of challenges. This is an immersive volunteer experience where you’ll be based in the heart of the jungle, contributing to the preservation of the landscape and animals that call it home.
You’ll get a rare insight into the rich Peruvian biodiversity while providing a valuable contribution on tasks including reforestation, trail conservation, home-base maintenance, animal inventories and research projects.
This project is perfect for people who are passionate about the environment, like working hard and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. It’s also an awesome opportunity for volunteers looking to hit reset on life by getting outdoors, being part of meaningful volunteer work, enjoying a rustic lifestyle and escaping the hustle and bustle of city life.
Depending on the location of your placement, it may take between six to 12 hours by bus to reach the volunteer site from central Cusco. All your basic living requirements are catered for, but you should expect there to be no electricity and no wi-fi. This is an ideal experience for those wanting a digital detox.
The Jungle Conservation project has a minimum duration of two weeks and an extra cost of US$75 (approximately AU$110) per week for extra supervision, food, materials and the logistics involved in this project. This amount will be included in the Program Fee quoted to you by IVHQ when you apply.Apply now
