For those with special needs, being able to spend time in specialist day care centers means they’re able to spend productive time learning and socialising. These centers are often not well resourced, so volunteer assistance can make a huge difference in helping teachers to deliver personal care.
Volunteers help to look after special needs children aged between 3 to 16 in centers in Kathmandu or Chitwan. Students can have a range of mental and physical disabilities.
Your tasks will include teaching, cleaning, feeding and arranging games and activities. There is also scope to assist with physical therapy if you have relevant experience.
This project is well suited to caring and patient volunteers who have a desire help children and teenagers with varying disabilities. Working in a special needs placement can challenging, but very rewarding. As you will be volunteering alongside our local placement staff, you are not required to have experience or qualifications in special needs care to participate.Apply now
