Volunteers on the South Korea program are typically accommodated in a guest house sharing a room with other volunteers and sometimes other travelers; however, if you were interested in staying in a local hotel instead, then the private hotel room upgrade may be for you!

It is near to the guesthouse (200m) so you will be able to walk there each day to meet up with the other volunteers. You will walk to the guesthouse each day to have breakfast with the other volunteers.

Reminder: Only one person needs to purchase this private room in a hotel upgrade and please note who the other volunteer is that you will be booking the private room in the hotel with.

If you are a group or family that wants to stay together you'll just need to add two private rooms in a hotel to your itinerary.

Culture Week
The Culture Week in Seoul offers an ideal way to deeply engage with South Korean culture and comfortably transition into your volunteer project. This week goes beyond the surface of K-pop and K-movies, providing you with a true taste of Korea’s rich traditions and vibrant lifestyle. You'll savor authentic Korean cuisine, explore historic royal palaces, learn the intricate art of Korean handicrafts, pick up essential language skills,  hike through Seoul's breathtaking mountain landscapes and more!

By the end of the week, you'll feel at home in this dynamic city, confident in navigating its streets, and fully prepared to embark on your volunteer journey.

What Awaits You During Culture Week

Each day of Culture Week includes around 3-5 hours of curated activities, from exploring cultural landmarks to engaging in hands-on experiences like calligraphy or Korean cooking classes. The remaining hours of the day, as well as weekends, are yours to explore as you wish. Whether you’re up for a day trip, a scenic hike, or simply relaxing at the guesthouse, the local team is on hand to help plan your adventures and make reservations.

Monday:

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
The capital city of South Korea is the perfect place to begin your Korean adventure. You will meet your group in the Myeongdong district, where you will be treated to your first Korean meal during the included welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Modern Seoul: Kpop dance class & HiKR visit
After having breakfast at the hostel, you will head to the trendy Hapjeong neighbourhood where you will get the chance to learn a K-Pop dance from a professional instructor and visit the HiKR to learn about the global K-Wave phenomenon. You will have the afternoon free to explore.
In your free time, you could enjoy a touch of shopping in Myeongdong. Myeongdong district is known as a shopper's paradise, you'll be able to pick up some K-pop idol merchandise there if you're a fan! Alternatively, visit Myeongdong Cathedral, the oldest Gothic church in Korea, for some peaceful reflection.

Day 3 - The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)
Today, you will have the opportunity to experience a tour that you will remember forever. You will be taken to the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) where you can gaze into the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea. As you stand on the border of two worlds, you will witness the stark contrast between North and South Korea. You will explore the tunnels dug by North Korea into the south, hear the area's stories, and engage in cultural exchange with a North Korean defector. You will return to Seoul by approximately 4 pm, with enough time for everyone to freshen up before enjoying another amazing Korean dinner.

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today, you will be transported back in time to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Joseon Dynasty era in traditional Seoul. You will witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the five palaces that survived the Joseon dynasty era and holds a special place for the people of Seoul. You will explore its ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene garden. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel.
Afterwards, you will walk through the perfectly preserved Bukchon Hanok Village and appreciate its traditional Korean architecture. The village is a living museum showcasing how people lived in Korea centuries ago. In complete contrast, we then head to the bustling Insadong art street. Insagong is a lively and vibrant cultural hub, famous for its art galleries, antique and cultural shops.
Later in the evening, your guide will take you on a street food-tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city. Gwangjang Market is a street food haven where you will find an array of Korean dishes, from savory to sweet. Don't miss a few of the iconic dishes like bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (mini seaweed rice rolls). Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

Day 5 - Temple Time!
Get ready to experience the serenity of a small, working temple nestled in the mountains outside Seoul. With beautifully decorated temples and shrines dotting the grounds, you will be transported to a world away from the noise and neon of the big city. You will be taking part in temple life including evening bell tolling, and prayer chanting. This is your opportunity to reset and recharge before the next leg of your adventure.

Day 6 - On to Jeonju: Hanok village walk & makgoli tasting
After starting your day with some chanting and a healthy breakfast, you will bid farewell to our cosy mountain retreat and head towards the quaint city of Jeonju. This city is known for its amazing cuisine, drinks, and well-preserved traditional village. Once you arrive at the beautiful wooden Hanok guesthouse and check-in, you will have time to explore the city. You will have the opportunity to experience rice wine at a tasting session in the Hanok and visit Makgoli Alley for a delicious dinner. Here, you can try some 'anju', which are special foods specifically made to be enjoyed while having a few drinks.

Day 7 - Gyeongju: Bike tour, Historical sites, Anapji Pond by night
After we say goodbye to Jeonju, you will take a bus to our next destination, the ancient capital of Gyeongju. This enchanting place is also known as the "Museum Without Walls" because of its collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs. These sites give us a glimpse into the past and share stories of a bygone era. After you check into your accommodation, you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. In the evening, you will head to the stunning Donggung Palace, which was a detached palace for the Shilla-era royals. Here, you will witness the shimmering reflections of Anapji Pond at night.

Day 8 - Gyeongju: Bulguksa Temple & Taekwondo
Today, you will have another day of exploring Gyeongju. After breakfast, you will head to one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. Following this, you will have the opportunity to learn the famous fighting art of Taekwondo at a Dojang. During your session, you will learn the art of high-flying kicks, lightning-fast punches, and the precise movements from seasoned professionals. In the evening, join the rest of the group for the drinks and food in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Markets, Cable Car & Karaoke!
You will now head to Busan, a beautiful city situated on the water surrounded by majestic mountains and picturesque beaches. Your accommodation will be located in the heart of downtown. During your stay, you will get the chance to explore the famous Jagalchi market and shopping districts before hopping on the Songdo cable car to get stunning views of the city and water. The afternoon is yours to explore, and we highly recommend visiting the Gamcheon Cultural Village or indulging in a relaxing soak in a jjimjilbang. To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea's famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – On to Jeju Island!
It is time to say goodbye to your fellow travellers on the 10-day tour, as you will be continuing your journey to the famous volcanic island of Jeju, which is located 90 km off the coast of South Korea. Known as the island of the gods, Jeju boasts countless natural wonders waiting to be explored. You will have the morning to enjoy yourself until we board our flight and reach Jeju by early afternoon. Once you check-in, it will be time to find a place to eat and prepare for the exciting days ahead of exploring.

Day 11 - Jeju Island: Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and Hikes
You’ll need a good breakfast this morning because we’ve got an active day ahead! We’ll kick things off with a journey across Jeju Island to Seongsan Ilchulbong, a volcanic tuff cone formed by ancient eruptions. When you arrive you’ll tackle the short but steep hike to the summit. From the top, expect sweeping ocean views and a serious sense of achievement.
After the climb and some well-earned free time for lunch, you’ll head south to check out the dramatic Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. These geometric volcanic rock formations look like nature’s version of modern art, perfect for a few epic photos.
Last up is Yakcheonsa Temple, one of the most beautiful temples on the island. Tucked beside a healing mineral spring and facing the Pacific, it’s the kind of spot that invites you to slow down and soak in the serenity.
You’ll return to the hotel in the afternoon with time to unwind and do as you wish with some free time.

Day 12 - Jeju Island: The Big One - Olle Trail hike & Jeongbang Waterfall
Today is the way we walk the incredible Olle Trail across sections of the island. Expect sweeping views of the ocean and fields, small villages, dramatic rock formations, and the most famous waterfall on Jeju. Jeongbang Waterfall is a 23 meter high waterfall which crashes down unto the rocks on the oceanfront and is pretty jaw-dropping. Explore at your own leisure with the rest of the One Life crew for the afternoon before having an evening together to say goodbye to Jeju and to South Korea!

Day 13 - Goodbye
As your trip comes to an end, you will have one final breakfast before continuing your journey.
The memories you have made, the places you have explored, and the friendships you have formed along the way will stay with you forever.
If you select a return flight to Seoul, the flight departs Jeju Airport and arrives at Gimpo Airport in Seoul in the early afternoon.

Day 5 - Temple Time!
Get ready to experience the serenity of a small, working temple nestled in the mountains outside Seoul. With beautifully decorated temples and shrines dotting the grounds, you will be transported to a world away from the noise and neon of the big city. You will be taking part in temple life including evening bell tolling, and prayer chanting. This is your opportunity to reset and recharge before the next leg of your adventure.

Day 6 - On to Jeonju: Hanok village walk & makgoli tasting
After starting your day with some chanting and a healthy breakfast, you will bid farewell to our cosy mountain retreat and head towards the quaint city of Jeonju. This city is known for its amazing cuisine, drinks, and well-preserved traditional village. Once you arrive at the beautiful wooden Hanok guesthouse and check-in, you will have time to explore the city. You will have the opportunity to experience rice wine at a tasting session in the Hanok and visit Makgoli Alley for a delicious dinner. Here, you can try some 'anju', which are special foods specifically made to be enjoyed while having a few drinks.

Day 7 - Gyeongju: Bike tour, Historical sites, Anapji Pond by night
After we say goodbye to Jeonju, you will take a bus to our next destination, the ancient capital of Gyeongju. This enchanting place is also known as the "Museum Without Walls" because of its collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs. These sites give us a glimpse into the past and share stories of a bygone era. After you check into your accommodation, you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. In the evening, you will head to the stunning Donggung Palace, which was a detached palace for the Shilla-era royals. Here, you will witness the shimmering reflections of Anapji Pond at night.

Day 8 - Gyeongju: Bulguksa Temple & Taekwondo
Today, you will have another day of exploring Gyeongju. After breakfast, you will head to one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. Following this, you will have the opportunity to learn the famous fighting art of Taekwondo at a Dojang. During your session, you will learn the art of high-flying kicks, lightning-fast punches, and the precise movements from seasoned professionals. In the evening, join the rest of the group for the drinks and food in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Markets, Cable Car & Karaoke!
You will now head to Busan, a beautiful city situated on the water surrounded by majestic mountains and picturesque beaches. Your accommodation will be located in the heart of downtown. During your stay, you will get the chance to explore the famous Jagalchi market and shopping districts before hopping on the Songdo cable car to get stunning views of the city and water. The afternoon is yours to explore, and we highly recommend visiting the Gamcheon Cultural Village or indulging in a relaxing soak in a jjimjilbang. To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea's famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – Goodbye!
As your trip comes to an end, you will have one final breakfast before continuing your journey. The memories you have made, the places you have explored, and the friendships you have formed along the way will stay with you forever.
You will have the option to take the train from Busan to Seoul Station or fly back from Gimhae Airport - this is an additional cost.

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
Welcome to South Korea! Day 1 of your epic Korean journey launches with an exhilarating touchdown at the hostel in the vibrant heart of Seoul’s most famous shopping district; Myeongdong. The minute you step outside, the pulse of this bustling city will draw you in, filling you with the spirit of adventure. Meet your crew for an orientation and then head out for your first Korean feast at the included welcome dinner with your new One Life family!

Day 2 - Modern Seoul & HiKR visit
After breakfast at the hostel, you will have the morning free to explore Seoul. If you’re a K-pop fan, meet the rest of the group around lunch time at HiKR Ground, a 4-storey interactive center with a K-Pop museum and learn about the K Wave sweeping the world! The afternoon is yours to explore.

Day 3 - Free Day In Seoul
Seoul is all yours today to choose your own adventure. You could start your morning with a walk along Seoullo 7017, a beautiful sky garden offering city views and a variety of plants, or dive into history at the National Museum of Korea, exploring its free permanent collection of over 12,000 artifacts. For a cultural experience, wander through Ihwa Mural Village and capture photos of vibrant murals created by local artists. If you’re interested in beauty treatments, consider booking a session at one of Myeongdong’s renowned skin clinics or hair therapy centers, famous for their world-class products and services. Meet up with the rest of the group when they return to Seoul around 4pm, and head out in the evening for another amazing Korean dinner!

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today is all about exploring the more traditional areas of Seoul to see another side of the city. Your adventure begins with the changing of the guard ceremony at the awe-inspiring Gyeongbokgung Palace. Truly a symbol of grandeur and history, where you’ll explore ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene gardens. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel! We will then walk through the perfectly preserved Hanok Village before heading to the bustling Insadong art street. Later in the evening your guide will take you on a street food tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city! Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

After morning chanting and another healthy Buddhist meal for breakfast, we will say goodbye to our little retreat in the mountains and make our way to the small city of Jeonju. Famous for its food, drink, and immaculately preserved traditional village area, we will head out to explore after checking in to our beautiful wooden Hanok guesthouse. Explore the afternoon at your leisure and join the rest of the group for a tasting session at the Hanok for one of the most famous things in Jeongju; a rice wine called Makgoli! You will learn about how it’s made, and try a series of different types. For those who would like to continue, the group will head of Makgoli Alley to try some more plus eat your way through some ‘anju’ – special foods made to be eaten while enjoying a few drinks!

Day 7 - Gyeongju: Historical sites, Anapji Pond by night
After we say goodbye to Jeonju, we’ll jump on a bus to our next destination; the ancient capital of Gyeongju! Known as the “Museum Without Walls,” this mesmerizing destination boasts an extraordinary collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs that whisper tales of a bygone era. After dropping our bags off you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. Day 8 - Free day in Gyeongju
You have a free day today in Gyeongju to explore further. You are welcome to join the rest of your group visiting one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. You might choose also to explore the ancient burial mounds at Tumuli Park, taking in the history of Silla kings and nobles. Or opt to delve further into the rich history and culture of the Silla Kingdom at Gyeongju National Museum, with its extensive collection of artifacts. If you’re after a relaxing day, take a leisurely bike ride or a boat trip around the scenic Bomun Lake, perfect for picnics. Join the rest of the group in the evening for testing out some of the bars and restaurants in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Exploring the Markets & Karaoke Night
Today we head to Busan, a city on the water surrounded by beaches and mountains. After checking in right in the centre of downtown, we will check out the famous Jagalchi Market and shopping districts. The afternoon is yours to explore with visits to the Gamcheon Cultural Village or maybe bathing in the steaming water of a jjimjilbang (public bathhouse) as suggestions.
To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea’s famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – Goodbye!
Sadly it is time to say goodbye. Fill up on breakfast before leaving the hotel and on to the next part of your journey. We are sure that the memories you created, the places you explored, and the friendships you forged along the way will stay with you forever!
You can either take the train from Busan back to Seoul Station, or fly back from Gimhae Airport. Annyeonghi gaseyo! This is at an additional cost.

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
The capital city of South Korea is the perfect place to begin your Korean adventure. You will meet your group in the Myeongdong district, where you will be treated to your first Korean meal during the included welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Modern Seoul: Kpop dance class & HiKR visit
After having breakfast at the hostel, you will head to the trendy Hapjeong neighbourhood where you will get the chance to learn a K-Pop dance from a professional instructor and visit the HiKR to learn about the global K-Wave phenomenon. You will have the afternoon free to explore.
In your free time, you could enjoy a touch of shopping in Myeongdong. Myeongdong district is known as a shopper's paradise, you'll be able to pick up some K-pop idol merchandise there if you're a fan! Alternatively, visit Myeongdong Cathedral, the oldest Gothic church in Korea, for some peaceful reflection.

Day 3 - The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)
Today, you will have the opportunity to experience a tour that you will remember forever. You will be taken to the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) where you can gaze into the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea. As you stand on the border of two worlds, you will witness the stark contrast between North and South Korea. You will explore the tunnels dug by North Korea into the south, hear the area's stories, and engage in cultural exchange with a North Korean defector. You will return to Seoul by approximately 4 pm, with enough time for everyone to freshen up before enjoying another amazing Korean dinner.

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today, you will be transported back in time to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Joseon Dynasty era in traditional Seoul. You will witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the five palaces that survived the Joseon dynasty era and holds a special place for the people of Seoul. You will explore its ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene garden. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel.
Afterwards, you will walk through the perfectly preserved Bukchon Hanok Village and appreciate its traditional Korean architecture. The village is a living museum showcasing how people lived in Korea centuries ago. In complete contrast, we then head to the bustling Insadong art street. Insagong is a lively and vibrant cultural hub, famous for its art galleries, antique and cultural shops.
Later in the evening, your guide will take you on a street food-tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city. Gwangjang Market is a street food haven where you will find an array of Korean dishes, from savory to sweet. Don't miss a few of the iconic dishes like bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (mini seaweed rice rolls). Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

Join the Seoul Buddhism Program to experience Korea's rich Buddhist traditions through meditation, yoga, and cultural activities. 

Open to all levels, you'll start your day with guided meditation and engage in communal tasks, language lessons, and cultural orientations. With afternoons free for exploring Seoul, optional activities like tea ceremonies are also available. This program offers a unique chance to connect with monastics and immerse yourself in the spiritual and cultural essence of Korea.

The Korean Buddhism program allows for cultural immersion while simultaneously allowing you to engage in a wide variety of activities that showcase the rich history of Korea and the religious practices of Buddhism. You will have the opportunity to participate in daily chores and cleaning and be a part of many different types of meditation and yoga. This will give you an insight into the inner workings of Buddhism and therefore allow you to strengthen your spiritual journey. You will also have the opportunity to partake in Korean language lessons and an orientation that showcases Korean culture.

This program is available to both those who are beginners in Buddhism and those with more experience. The daily routine begins at 6 am with morning meditation, followed by a rest and then breakfast to begin your day.

You can then spend the rest of the schedule about meditation and yoga through guided practices where they will be taught about different meditation postures and breathing techniques. Following morning activities you will then spend some time doing some chores and cleaning. Lunchtime is from 1pm where you will have free time afterward for the remainder of the day allowing for exploration of Seoul, some afternoons there may be some activities held at Just-Be such as tea ceremonies, but these are optional to partake in.

Volunteers on the South Korea program are typically accommodated in a guest house sharing a room with other volunteers and sometimes other travelers; however, if you were interested in staying in a local hotel instead, then the private hotel room upgrade may be for you!

It is near to the guesthouse (200m) so you will be able to walk there each day to meet up with the other volunteers. You will walk to the guesthouse each day to have breakfast with the other volunteers.

Culture Week
The Culture Week in Seoul offers an ideal way to deeply engage with South Korean culture and comfortably transition into your volunteer project. This week goes beyond the surface of K-pop and K-movies, providing you with a true taste of Korea’s rich traditions and vibrant lifestyle. You'll savor authentic Korean cuisine, explore historic royal palaces, learn the intricate art of Korean handicrafts, pick up essential language skills,  hike through Seoul's breathtaking mountain landscapes and more!

By the end of the week, you'll feel at home in this dynamic city, confident in navigating its streets, and fully prepared to embark on your volunteer journey.

What Awaits You During Culture Week

Each day of Culture Week includes around 3-5 hours of curated activities, from exploring cultural landmarks to engaging in hands-on experiences like calligraphy or Korean cooking classes. The remaining hours of the day, as well as weekends, are yours to explore as you wish. Whether you’re up for a day trip, a scenic hike, or simply relaxing at the guesthouse, the local team is on hand to help plan your adventures and make reservations.

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
The capital city of South Korea is the perfect place to begin your Korean adventure. You will meet your group in the Myeongdong district, where you will be treated to your first Korean meal during the included welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Modern Seoul: Kpop dance class & HiKR visit
After having breakfast at the hostel, you will head to the trendy Hapjeong neighbourhood where you will get the chance to learn a K-Pop dance from a professional instructor and visit the HiKR to learn about the global K-Wave phenomenon. You will have the afternoon free to explore.
In your free time, you could enjoy a touch of shopping in Myeongdong. Myeongdong district is known as a shopper's paradise, you'll be able to pick up some K-pop idol merchandise there if you're a fan! Alternatively, visit Myeongdong Cathedral, the oldest Gothic church in Korea, for some peaceful reflection.

Day 3 - The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)
Today, you will have the opportunity to experience a tour that you will remember forever. You will be taken to the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) where you can gaze into the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea. As you stand on the border of two worlds, you will witness the stark contrast between North and South Korea. You will explore the tunnels dug by North Korea into the south, hear the area's stories, and engage in cultural exchange with a North Korean defector. You will return to Seoul by approximately 4 pm, with enough time for everyone to freshen up before enjoying another amazing Korean dinner.

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today, you will be transported back in time to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Joseon Dynasty era in traditional Seoul. You will witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the five palaces that survived the Joseon dynasty era and holds a special place for the people of Seoul. You will explore its ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene garden. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel.
Afterwards, you will walk through the perfectly preserved Bukchon Hanok Village and appreciate its traditional Korean architecture. The village is a living museum showcasing how people lived in Korea centuries ago. In complete contrast, we then head to the bustling Insadong art street. Insagong is a lively and vibrant cultural hub, famous for its art galleries, antique and cultural shops.
Later in the evening, your guide will take you on a street food-tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city. Gwangjang Market is a street food haven where you will find an array of Korean dishes, from savory to sweet. Don't miss a few of the iconic dishes like bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (mini seaweed rice rolls). Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

Day 5 - Temple Time!
Get ready to experience the serenity of a small, working temple nestled in the mountains outside Seoul. With beautifully decorated temples and shrines dotting the grounds, you will be transported to a world away from the noise and neon of the big city. You will be taking part in temple life including evening bell tolling, and prayer chanting. This is your opportunity to reset and recharge before the next leg of your adventure.

Day 6 - On to Jeonju: Hanok village walk & makgoli tasting
After starting your day with some chanting and a healthy breakfast, you will bid farewell to our cosy mountain retreat and head towards the quaint city of Jeonju. This city is known for its amazing cuisine, drinks, and well-preserved traditional village. Once you arrive at the beautiful wooden Hanok guesthouse and check-in, you will have time to explore the city. You will have the opportunity to experience rice wine at a tasting session in the Hanok and visit Makgoli Alley for a delicious dinner. Here, you can try some 'anju', which are special foods specifically made to be enjoyed while having a few drinks.

Day 7 - Gyeongju: Bike tour, Historical sites, Anapji Pond by night
After we say goodbye to Jeonju, you will take a bus to our next destination, the ancient capital of Gyeongju. This enchanting place is also known as the "Museum Without Walls" because of its collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs. These sites give us a glimpse into the past and share stories of a bygone era. After you check into your accommodation, you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. In the evening, you will head to the stunning Donggung Palace, which was a detached palace for the Shilla-era royals. Here, you will witness the shimmering reflections of Anapji Pond at night.

Day 8 - Gyeongju: Bulguksa Temple & Taekwondo
Today, you will have another day of exploring Gyeongju. After breakfast, you will head to one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. Following this, you will have the opportunity to learn the famous fighting art of Taekwondo at a Dojang. During your session, you will learn the art of high-flying kicks, lightning-fast punches, and the precise movements from seasoned professionals. In the evening, join the rest of the group for the drinks and food in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Markets, Cable Car & Karaoke!
You will now head to Busan, a beautiful city situated on the water surrounded by majestic mountains and picturesque beaches. Your accommodation will be located in the heart of downtown. During your stay, you will get the chance to explore the famous Jagalchi market and shopping districts before hopping on the Songdo cable car to get stunning views of the city and water. The afternoon is yours to explore, and we highly recommend visiting the Gamcheon Cultural Village or indulging in a relaxing soak in a jjimjilbang. To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea's famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – On to Jeju Island!
It is time to say goodbye to your fellow travellers on the 10-day tour, as you will be continuing your journey to the famous volcanic island of Jeju, which is located 90 km off the coast of South Korea. Known as the island of the gods, Jeju boasts countless natural wonders waiting to be explored. You will have the morning to enjoy yourself until we board our flight and reach Jeju by early afternoon. Once you check-in, it will be time to find a place to eat and prepare for the exciting days ahead of exploring.

Day 11 - Jeju Island: Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and Hikes
You’ll need a good breakfast this morning because we’ve got an active day ahead! We’ll kick things off with a journey across Jeju Island to Seongsan Ilchulbong, a volcanic tuff cone formed by ancient eruptions. When you arrive you’ll tackle the short but steep hike to the summit. From the top, expect sweeping ocean views and a serious sense of achievement.
After the climb and some well-earned free time for lunch, you’ll head south to check out the dramatic Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. These geometric volcanic rock formations look like nature’s version of modern art, perfect for a few epic photos.
Last up is Yakcheonsa Temple, one of the most beautiful temples on the island. Tucked beside a healing mineral spring and facing the Pacific, it’s the kind of spot that invites you to slow down and soak in the serenity.
You’ll return to the hotel in the afternoon with time to unwind and do as you wish with some free time.

Day 12 - Jeju Island: The Big One - Olle Trail hike & Jeongbang Waterfall
Today is the way we walk the incredible Olle Trail across sections of the island. Expect sweeping views of the ocean and fields, small villages, dramatic rock formations, and the most famous waterfall on Jeju. Jeongbang Waterfall is a 23 meter high waterfall which crashes down unto the rocks on the oceanfront and is pretty jaw-dropping. Explore at your own leisure with the rest of the One Life crew for the afternoon before having an evening together to say goodbye to Jeju and to South Korea!

Day 13 - Goodbye
As your trip comes to an end, you will have one final breakfast before continuing your journey.
The memories you have made, the places you have explored, and the friendships you have formed along the way will stay with you forever.
If you select a return flight to Seoul, the flight departs Jeju Airport and arrives at Gimpo Airport in Seoul in the early afternoon.

After we say goodbye to Jeonju, you will take a bus to our next destination, the ancient capital of Gyeongju. This enchanting place is also known as the "Museum Without Walls" because of its collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs. These sites give us a glimpse into the past and share stories of a bygone era. After you check into your accommodation, you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. In the evening, you will head to the stunning Donggung Palace, which was a detached palace for the Shilla-era royals. Here, you will witness the shimmering reflections of Anapji Pond at night.

Day 8 - Gyeongju: Bulguksa Temple & Taekwondo
Today, you will have another day of exploring Gyeongju. After breakfast, you will head to one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. Following this, you will have the opportunity to learn the famous fighting art of Taekwondo at a Dojang. During your session, you will learn the art of high-flying kicks, lightning-fast punches, and the precise movements from seasoned professionals. In the evening, join the rest of the group for the drinks and food in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Markets, Cable Car & Karaoke!
You will now head to Busan, a beautiful city situated on the water surrounded by majestic mountains and picturesque beaches. Your accommodation will be located in the heart of downtown. During your stay, you will get the chance to explore the famous Jagalchi market and shopping districts before hopping on the Songdo cable car to get stunning views of the city and water. The afternoon is yours to explore, and we highly recommend visiting the Gamcheon Cultural Village or indulging in a relaxing soak in a jjimjilbang. To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea's famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – Goodbye!
As your trip comes to an end, you will have one final breakfast before continuing your journey. The memories you have made, the places you have explored, and the friendships you have formed along the way will stay with you forever.
You will have the option to take the train from Busan to Seoul Station or fly back from Gimhae Airport - this is an additional cost.

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
Welcome to South Korea! Day 1 of your epic Korean journey launches with an exhilarating touchdown at the hostel in the vibrant heart of Seoul’s most famous shopping district; Myeongdong. The minute you step outside, the pulse of this bustling city will draw you in, filling you with the spirit of adventure. Meet your crew for an orientation and then head out for your first Korean feast at the included welcome dinner with your new One Life family!

Day 2 - Modern Seoul & HiKR visit
After breakfast at the hostel, you will have the morning free to explore Seoul. If you’re a K-pop fan, meet the rest of the group around lunch time at HiKR Ground, a 4-storey interactive center with a K-Pop museum and learn about the K Wave sweeping the world! The afternoon is yours to explore.

Day 3 - Free Day In Seoul
Seoul is all yours today to choose your own adventure. You could start your morning with a walk along Seoullo 7017, a beautiful sky garden offering city views and a variety of plants, or dive into history at the National Museum of Korea, exploring its free permanent collection of over 12,000 artifacts. For a cultural experience, wander through Ihwa Mural Village and capture photos of vibrant murals created by local artists. If you’re interested in beauty treatments, consider booking a session at one of Myeongdong’s renowned skin clinics or hair therapy centers, famous for their world-class products and services. Meet up with the rest of the group when they return to Seoul around 4pm, and head out in the evening for another amazing Korean dinner!

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today is all about exploring the more traditional areas of Seoul to see another side of the city. Your adventure begins with the changing of the guard ceremony at the awe-inspiring Gyeongbokgung Palace. Truly a symbol of grandeur and history, where you’ll explore ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene gardens. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel! We will then walk through the perfectly preserved Hanok Village before heading to the bustling Insadong art street. Later in the evening your guide will take you on a street food tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city! Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

Day 5 - Temple Time!
Get ready to experience the serenity of a small, working temple nestled in the mountains outside Seoul. With beautifully decorated temples and shrines dotting the grounds, you will be transported to a world away from the noise and neon of the big city. You will be taking part in temple life including evening bell tolling, and prayer chanting. This is your opportunity to reset and recharge before the next leg of your adventure.

Day 6 - On to Jeonju: Hanok village walk & makgoli tasting
After morning chanting and another healthy Buddhist meal for breakfast, we will say goodbye to our little retreat in the mountains and make our way to the small city of Jeonju. Famous for its food, drink, and immaculately preserved traditional village area, we will head out to explore after checking in to our beautiful wooden Hanok guesthouse. Explore the afternoon at your leisure and join the rest of the group for a tasting session at the Hanok for one of the most famous things in Jeongju; a rice wine called Makgoli! You will learn about how it’s made, and try a series of different types. For those who would like to continue, the group will head of Makgoli Alley to try some more plus eat your way through some ‘anju’ – special foods made to be eaten while enjoying a few drinks!

Day 7 - Gyeongju: Historical sites, Anapji Pond by night
After we say goodbye to Jeonju, we’ll jump on a bus to our next destination; the ancient capital of Gyeongju! Known as the “Museum Without Walls,” this mesmerizing destination boasts an extraordinary collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, and royal tombs that whisper tales of a bygone era. After dropping our bags off you will have time to freshen up before we explore the town on bikes, to visit all the destinations which make Gyeongju so famous. In the evening, we will make our way over to the Anapji Pond and gaze upon the mirrored reflections of the structures around the water.

Day 8 - Free day in Gyeongju
You have a free day today in Gyeongju to explore further. You are welcome to join the rest of your group visiting one of the most significant temples in the country, Bulguksa. This ancient temple is nestled amidst lush forests and scenic landscapes and is a true masterpiece of architecture, history, and tranquillity. You might choose also to explore the ancient burial mounds at Tumuli Park, taking in the history of Silla kings and nobles. Or opt to delve further into the rich history and culture of the Silla Kingdom at Gyeongju National Museum, with its extensive collection of artifacts. If you’re after a relaxing day, take a leisurely bike ride or a boat trip around the scenic Bomun Lake, perfect for picnics. Join the rest of the group in the evening for testing out some of the bars and restaurants in the old town.

Day 9 - Busan: Exploring the Markets & Karaoke Night
Today we head to Busan, a city on the water surrounded by beaches and mountains. After checking in right in the centre of downtown, we will check out the famous Jagalchi Market and shopping districts. The afternoon is yours to explore with visits to the Gamcheon Cultural Village or maybe bathing in the steaming water of a jjimjilbang (public bathhouse) as suggestions.
To end your day on a high note, you can sing your heart out in one of Korea’s famous karaoke rooms.

Day 10 – Goodbye!
Sadly it is time to say goodbye. Fill up on breakfast before leaving the hotel and on to the next part of your journey. We are sure that the memories you created, the places you explored, and the friendships you forged along the way will stay with you forever!
You can either take the train from Busan back to Seoul Station, or fly back from Gimhae Airport. Annyeonghi gaseyo! This is at an additional cost.

Day 1 - Welcome to Korea!
The capital city of South Korea is the perfect place to begin your Korean adventure. You will meet your group in the Myeongdong district, where you will be treated to your first Korean meal during the included welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Modern Seoul: Kpop dance class & HiKR visit
After having breakfast at the hostel, you will head to the trendy Hapjeong neighbourhood where you will get the chance to learn a K-Pop dance from a professional instructor and visit the HiKR to learn about the global K-Wave phenomenon. You will have the afternoon free to explore.
In your free time, you could enjoy a touch of shopping in Myeongdong. Myeongdong district is known as a shopper's paradise, you'll be able to pick up some K-pop idol merchandise there if you're a fan! Alternatively, visit Myeongdong Cathedral, the oldest Gothic church in Korea, for some peaceful reflection.

Day 3 - The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)
Today, you will have the opportunity to experience a tour that you will remember forever. You will be taken to the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) where you can gaze into the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea. As you stand on the border of two worlds, you will witness the stark contrast between North and South Korea. You will explore the tunnels dug by North Korea into the south, hear the area's stories, and engage in cultural exchange with a North Korean defector. You will return to Seoul by approximately 4 pm, with enough time for everyone to freshen up before enjoying another amazing Korean dinner.

Day 4 - Traditional Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong & a food tour
Today, you will be transported back in time to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Joseon Dynasty era in traditional Seoul. You will witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the five palaces that survived the Joseon dynasty era and holds a special place for the people of Seoul. You will explore its ancient courtyards, majestic architecture, and serene garden. You also have the chance to wear the traditional ‘hanbok’ while exploring the palace for that extra authentic feel.
Afterwards, you will walk through the perfectly preserved Bukchon Hanok Village and appreciate its traditional Korean architecture. The village is a living museum showcasing how people lived in Korea centuries ago. In complete contrast, we then head to the bustling Insadong art street. Insagong is a lively and vibrant cultural hub, famous for its art galleries, antique and cultural shops.
Later in the evening, your guide will take you on a street food-tasting tour through the famous Gwangjang Market to sample the best street food in the city. Gwangjang Market is a street food haven where you will find an array of Korean dishes, from savory to sweet. Don't miss a few of the iconic dishes like bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (mini seaweed rice rolls). Afterwards, you can enjoy the breathtaking night views from the top of Namsan Mountain, where you will see the famous tower illuminated in pink, blue, and green.

Day 5 - Temple Time!

Seoul Buddhism Experience: Meditation, Culture & Tradition
Join the Seoul Buddhism Program to experience Korea's rich Buddhist traditions through meditation, yoga, and cultural activities. 

Open to all levels, you'll start your day with guided meditation and engage in communal tasks, language lessons, and cultural orientations. With afternoons free for exploring Seoul, optional activities like tea ceremonies are also available. This program offers a unique chance to connect with monastics and immerse yourself in the spiritual and cultural essence of Korea.

The Korean Buddhism program allows for cultural immersion while simultaneously allowing you to engage in a wide variety of activities that showcase the rich history of Korea and the religious practices of Buddhism. You will have the opportunity to participate in daily chores and cleaning and be a part of many different types of meditation and yoga. This will give you an insight into the inner workings of Buddhism and therefore allow you to strengthen your spiritual journey. You will also have the opportunity to partake in Korean language lessons and an orientation that showcases Korean culture.

This program is available to both those who are beginners in Buddhism and those with more experience. The daily routine begins at 6 am with morning meditation, followed by a rest and then breakfast to begin your day.

You can then spend the rest of the schedule about meditation and yoga through guided practices where they will be taught about different meditation postures and breathing techniques. Following morning activities you will then spend some time doing some chores and cleaning. Lunchtime is from 1pm where you will have free time afterward for the remainder of the day allowing for exploration of Seoul, some afternoons there may be some activities held at Just-Be such as tea ceremonies, but these are optional to partake in.
