Celestun is a peaceful fishing village located west of Merida and is home to secluded stretches of beautiful beachfront with great seafood to boot. Surrounding the town is a wetland reserve that is the winter home to flocks of flamingos. Cenotes

A trip to Mexico is not complete without taking a snap of yourself floating in the pristine waters of a cenote (pronounced say-NO-tay). Picture pure tranquillity, the clearest of waters, beams of light shining through the giant tropical trees and vines that form wild cathedral walls and all within a day trip from the volunteer house.
