What to expect and how you'll make an impact

Schools and community initiatives in Lovina frequently lack the financial resources to cover necessary repairs or enhancements that would enhance the safety, functionality, and appeal of their structures. With your practical help as a volunteer builder, these organisations will be better able to support their local communities and make a bigger impact.

As a Construction & Renovation volunteer, you’ll assist local teams with the maintenance and renovation of schools and community spaces and be able to see the visible difference you make.

Renovation volunteer work varies, but tasks may include:

  • Painting
  • Repairs and renovation
  • Gardening and landscaping
  • Maintenance and cleaning
  • Making signs

Important dates to note for 2024:

  • The 11th of March is Silent day (Nyepi day) and you will have to stay at the volunteer center as everything will stop including orientation, volunteering, the airport, restaurants, shops, etc will all be closed.

If someone was hesitant about joining IVHQ, I would recommend they jump in with both feet and go with it. The team do everything to ensure you are and feel safe and I've truly never grown so much as I did whilst working with IVHQ. Everything from the flights to the program to the people you meet to the adventuring forces you to be independent, to understand the world and to be grateful for what you have and I can't recommend the experience enough. I truly believe that without IVHQ I wouldn't have met some of my closest friends, I wouldn't have made some of the best memories of my life and I wouldn't be the person I am today. I didn't realise how much of an impact working with the children would have on me as a person and my understanding of the world.
