Volunteering in Kenya has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. I had the privilege of working closely with women and girls across communities, facilitating confidence-building workshops, supporting education initiatives, and creating safe spaces for honest conversations about their futures.
Throughout my time there, I was welcomed with warmth and trust, which allowed me to build deep relationships and truly listen to the needs, strengths, and aspirations of the young women I worked with. Together, we explored topics like self-belief, leadership, communication, and practical life skills, always centering their voices and experiences.
This journey has strengthened my commitment to women’s empowerment and reminded me that meaningful impact starts with showing up consistently, with humility and respect.
Kenya has given me more than I could ever give back: perspective, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose in using my skills to champion girls’ and women’s potential, wherever I am in the world.
I left grateful, not just for the projects we completed, but for the laughter, the shared stories, the therapy sessions, and the countless moments of growth, for them and for me.
