Xian China Day Three

I am falling in love with my special needs children. They are beginning to warm up to us three volunteers. Yesterday was special, we got to take the children to the park and play music and dance at the park. What a sight, so much fun, it was a blast. Our day starts with breakfast at 7.00am and then we catch the city bus to the project. Spend the morning with the children doing various projects, then lunch from 12 noon to 2.30pm. During lunch we have time to explore the city. We are enjoying the street vendors' food. Very tasty and good. While we are gone the children have their lunch and they nap time. After lunch we have more activities with the kids and then leave them around 5pm. It is a full day but very worth it. After 5pm we usually catch a bus back to the volunteer house and everyone shares about their day and then we all have supper. Momma makes the best food and it is very filling. Then during the evening we go somewhere in the city or just talk. For me its early to bed and early to rise. I am usually the first to get up in the house. It's my quiet time. Today we have arts and crafts with the children. The other volunteers and I drew some pictures yesterday and today the children will color them. I can hardly wait to see the kids in the morning and they are all smiles when they see us. I am definitely begging to see a spark in two of the children that was not there before. This is so worth it. Well have to get ready for my day. Until tomorrow see you later.
