IVHQ Volunteers Making Headlines

It's fantastic to see our volunteers featuring on the pages of their local newspapers - sharing preparations for upcoming IVHQ trips or reflecting on volunteering experiences.

Here's IVHQ volunteer, Penny Davidson from East Hampton (USA), on the front page of her local paper. Penny and her husband Arnie spent 2 weeks volunteering in Ghana on our Orphanage Work program last month.

In this article, Penny shares that the couple spent their time "teaching, washing and feeding the children" while working in a local school for orphaned and abandoned children founded 9 months ago by a local Ghanaian. "There's no running water and they share one toilet... They sleep on straw mats on concrete floors. In the morning they get up and go to the classrooms. Then they bring the benches outside to eat," shares Penny.
