Groups Volunteering Abroad

As both the weather and the rugby are hotting up in New Zealand, we at IVHQ are getting many enquiries for the upcoming holidays; winter in the north and summer in the south!

While we continue to get mostly individual enquiries, we have recently been thrilled to receive a number of enquiries from volunteer groups wanting to volunteer abroad with IVHQ!

We currently have 8 groups organised to volunteer with IVHQ in 2012 in programs such as volunteer in Guatemala, volunteer in Ecuador, volunteer in Uganda and volunteer in Peru Cusco and we are very excited to have them all on board. Groups range from Corporate to Church, School to University and also Occupational groups, such as Doctors, Teachers and larger groups of friends. Group sizes range from 10 to 30 with most groups forming as part of their alternative spring break, or as part of their educational study. We also have an Arts group volunteering in Ecuador with us from Westchester University and a Medical group volunteering in Guatemala from University of Wisconsin Madison Health Occupations Students of America.

Feedback so far from our group organisers has been excellent, with Natalie Lovell writing “I am incredibly impressed with your organization and crew and really appreciate your friendliness and willingness to work with me and my group.” It’s great to work with you too, Natalie, and we look forward to working with many more groups over the coming months, ensuring each group has a memorable and rewarding volunteer experience with IVHQ! For more information on how your group can volunteer overseas send us an email today and we will be more than happy to answer your questions.

In other news the entire IVHQ team is back in New Zealand and we’re using the opportunity to move to our new offices here in New Plymouth! This doesn’t mean much to volunteers as all our contact details will remain the same, but for us here at head office we look forward to the move and creating a bigger and better head office in New Zealand!

As I wrap up for this week’s news I leave you with a our popular volunteer question of this week: “I see many of your volunteers are aged between 18 and 26, do you still accept applications from older volunteers, for example over 50?” Our answer is a big welcoming YES! We accept volunteers of all ages and it will be great to have you on board!

From the team at IVHQ – we hope you have a fantastic week and we look forward to hearing from you about our incredibly affordable volunteer experiences!
