NGOs in Rome commonly face financial challenges as they strive to provide basic services for people in need. As a result, many NGOs rely heavily on local and international volunteers just to run their various initiatives, let alone expand their reach.
As a volunteer with NGOs, you’ll provide valuable support to a local NGO from a range of fields including community development, child and youth welfare, immigration and migrant support or human rights. Volunteers who have relevant experience may also help to provide legal support to migrants seeking asylum.
You can expect your volunteer work to be varied, based on what’s needed most at the time. This often involves organising and running community workshops and outreach efforts, networking, providing English language support, as well as supporting organisational development, marketing and research activities.
This project is well suited to volunteers who are motivated, able to take initiative and offer ideas to support the long term development goals of your NGO. You need to be at least 18 years old and have some relevant experience in either study or work. Please outline this experience in your application, though be aware that you’ll be placed with the NGO that has the most need for assistance at the time of your program.
This project has a minimum duration requirement of 4 weeks. You’ll need to bring your own laptop to support your volunteer work.Apply now
