Due to the social stigma and lack of governmental support, many families in Morocco who are unable to properly care for family members with mental and physical disabilities. Volunteers can play an influential role in helping to provide care and stimulation, providing vulnerable people with entertainment and education they otherwise wouldn’t have.
You’ll be volunteering with disabled people with a range of challenges such as autism, cerebral palsy and down syndrome, helping to plan games and educational activities in a special needs center. You can help with whatever is required at the time, with a general goal of motivating and enriching the lives of people living with disabilities.
If you have experience or training in physical therapy training, you can also assist with treatment, physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
While some basic resources are available, you’ll need to use your initiative in your activities - bringing resources from home may help you in this regard.
Volunteers who apply for the Special Needs Care project must be qualified or studying special education or physical therapy.Apply now
