New Born Wildlife Conservation Volunteer Opportunities
Following the birth of our first Wildlife Conservation volunteer program in Africa, our IVHQers witnessed the safe arrival of a new baby Rhino in Victoria Falls!
Our local team in Victoria Falls is happy to report that the yet-to-be named female Rhino and its mother are both well and adjusting nicely to life in the reserve together. Serving as an Intensive Protection Zone for Black Rhino, this private game reserve is the only ‘Big Five’ area in Victoria Falls and also plays home to our IVHQ wildlife conservation volunteers. These IVHQers assist in vital conservation management practices, contributing towards the successful operation of the reserve. Wildlife conservation volunteer opportunities in Victoria Falls include reserve clean-ups, along with game, predator and bird monitoring, tracking and counting.
An intensive Black Rhino monitoring program is also in place within the reserve, with the aim of increasing the Black Rhino population in Victoria Falls, joining the fight against the widespread poaching of Rhinoceros in southern Africa.
