Just want to say thank you for giving me an amazing project and experience that I will remember for a lifetime. I had such a great time and it was great fun hanging out with the other volunteers in the house, especially going for weekend excursions with some of them.
I absolutely enjoyed teaching a Buddhist monk, Chandananda. He was calm, patient and very eager to learn, I enjoyed teaching him English and seeing him improve his English skills everyday.
I loved teaching the village Muslim kids inside their lovely home. They are shy most of the time, but so well behaved and eager to learn more and more everyday. They are all very smart and it was a great pleasure working with such intelligent kids who are not afraid to correct me as a teacher as well. They had great dreams in life and I wish they achieve these dreams one day.
I went to the home for the elderly for 2 days. I spent half of the day with them and took time to get to know them and listen to them. This program touched me deeply and I loved spending time with all of them. They remind me of my grandmother. I loved playing bananagrams with them and listening to them and just touching their fragile hands. This project is so rewarding and I highly recommend it to anyone. I will always remember the smiles of all the elderly people in the home and playing my music and dancing to them. The sisters are all very nice and they cooked us a great lunch.
Thank you again. I enjoyed beautiful Sri Lanka and would definitely come back.

My favorite moments were meeting Zeineb and Meryam (two women at my placement) and being welcomed into their family and home to learn how to make couc cous, how to enjoy and make team, telling stories, and just chatting and joking and laughing!
The cooking class that the local coordinator Zineb had organized for me was one of the most enjoyable nights of my time in Rabat, and I was just so in awe by the kindness shown to me by every Moroccan I met! I was able to have conversations with so many friendly people who were patient with my terrible French, but we smiled and laughed all in the same language! I really felt a new sense of life come into met after sharing those times with those who were once complete strangers.

I loved that I could check my application status, post on my blog, read about other peoples experiences and enter contests all in one spot.
There were too many favorite moments to count, every moment spent was valuable and life changing.

All the local staff amazing. I always had someone there to answer
my questions.
I love placement. I didn't want to leave. I got to actually teach my
kids which was very helpful considering I am in the process of
becoming a teacher.
Can not complain about anything. The mamas, the security guard and the house manager were all amazing.
My favourite moment was when one of my kids started to read a book for the first time. I nearly cried.

The accommodation was incredible, all the hosts, meals, and living standards were better than whatever I was expecting.
One of my favourite moments was when I actually gave medical consultation by myself on the clinic. Another one was when one lady was so grateful with me that she actually gave me a bag of coffee. And all nights with the other volunteers having a beer, wine or just plain water chatting about their placement or their home.
I would totally recommend this program to others, and actually I have done that already.

The experience was amazing, and it was great to share this with my daughter. I think one week was too short, so minimum 2 week placement is ideal. The children and Mamta (our host mother) were very appreciative of our time and enjoyed having us there. We loved the children!!

The program coordinator, Zineb, and her assistant, Efsy, put together a terrific set of programs for us. She was flexible, patient and understanding of our concerns and made some last minute modifications to create the perfect experience for us. The result was an interesting placement in the right preschool with encouraging staff, and welcoming children where we think we could actually contribute something even though we were there for too short a time. We also had a lovely host family in a very safe, convenient and historic area of the city. And finally our Arabic tutor was fantastic. A great teacher and a lovely person. Zineb gave us her own tutorials on transportation, food and customs that were very helpful. All in all I would recommend Morocco to anyone and can't wait for the opportunity to return myself.
I would just note that a volunteer's proficiency in either Arabic or French will make the experience easier and more contributory. There is very little exposure to/use of English outside the University setting. Also - it really is cold in December and most buildings (homes and schools) are not heated. Packing accordingly makes the stay more pleasant.

My expectations were tremendously exceeded. Being that we were the first volunteers to go to this orphanage allowed us to build a foundation for future volunteers, address the areas we felt needed the most help, for example, getting the kids tested for HIV was a huge priority once we discovered they had no medical files. Fulfilling that task was a huge accomplishment! I adored the freedom we had to make the change we felt was important. The leaders of Abraham's Seed were so open to learning and change which allowed us to achieve many things throughout the 3 weeks we were there. As much as I may have made an impact, my life was changed by this experience and it was very emotionally and intellectually rewarding.
the experience was so insightful and rewarding in so many ways.

All my questions were answered quickly over email which made preparing for my trip easier and much more comfortable.
Our accommodation was great. Much more than I expected.
Just getting to know the kids at the orphanage was amazing. They were such awesome young people.
