I just wanted to write and let you know I made it home. What a WONDERFUL six weeks I had in Palampur. The sponsors and my family were both great. They were always there whenever we missed a bus, had questions, or just needed someone to bounce ideas off of. The little daycare was run by a wonderful woman who had the interest of the children in the forefront. We were able to leave behind a written curriculum for about 4 to 6 weeks that other volunteers can come in and repeat with very little effort.

Once I felt confident with my lessons and got to know the kids/teachers more personally, I felt I was making an impact! It was really hard to say goodbye after 2 weeks.

I just wanted to take a minute and say 'thank you' for making the arrangements for my daughters to work in Peru and stay with Lidia at her home. She was fantastic at keeping everything going and provided a wonderful environment for the volunteers. My girls returned last week and got everything I could have imagined for them with their stay. The work experiences were many and varied, and the friends they met were very motivating. I hope that they made a small difference in the people they encountered.
One of my daughters would very much like to return to Peru, but she has not yet made that personal commitment. If and when she does, I will be in contact with you.

I would recommend your organization to anyone who wants to volunteer overseas. Thank you again for everything you did.

Justin and I are done with our one week of volunteering, not nearly enough time, but oh well. We had a wonderful time with the local staff and would recommend it to anyone.

The Website is very easy to use, clearly explains what is covered through fees and what additional costs need to be made. The information booklet was very helpful, and helped prepare me mentally for my service and trip. The best priced programs available.

My favorite moment was one day I walked into my classroom of about 12 kids and a majority of them immediately swarmed me—giving me hugs and kisses and just wanting to play with me.

Everything is wonderful here in Colombia! This program has far exceeded my expectations. I'm so glad I didn't hesitate to sign up with IVHQ. I'm very very happy! Thank you so much!

Everything has turned out amazing, I'm very happy with IVHQ and will definately be recommending the program to friends and family. I hope to be able to return some day or try another location through the IVHQ program, talking to the other volunteers who have been to south east Asia and Africa with IVHQ has been great.

Orientation was great, they told us most of the stuff we needed to be sensitive to and look out for. Playing soccer with the kids at the daycare was awesome, they were pretty amazing. I also loved meeting other volunteers and traveling with them on weekends.

Carpio was an amazing, eye-opening experience, and was far more than what I expected to get out of childcare work. If and when I volunteer again, there is no question in my mind about the fact that I will book through IVHQ again. Great! Blanche, my program coordinator, was always prompt and informative with her responses to my question, and I felt like I was being kept in mind through other e-mails I received from IVHQ prior, during, and after my trip. Information booklet was sent to me upon my confirmation, and was extremely helpful! Even though I speak Spanish, I loved that it has useful Spanish phrases included in it, as well as a packing list and information which generally applied to Costa Rica: needed shots, notice of an exit fee, an idea of what kind of childcare work I would be doing. While the majority of Costa Ricans in San Jose are conservative, I found many of the women wear leggings, capris, and knee-length shorts much more than pants and skirts.
