IVHQ KCC Project Fundraising - Donations Needed!

26th April 2010

In September 2009, a group of five IVHQ volunteers along with their host mother set up the KCC Project in KCC Slum, Naivasha, Kenya. The effort of these volunteers and hundreds of other IVHQ volunteers subsequently in assisting with this project has been huge. Unfortunately a decision by the Kenyan Government to evict these people from the slum as it falls on Kenya Railways land could potentially end this project and all the hard work these volunteers have put in.

The KCC project is now in the process of fundraising frantically to buy more land for their school so they can relocate and continue to educate the children for this program. The positive affect this program has had on hundreds of children from the slum has been huge and it would be a disaster for all involved if it was to stop now. To contribute to these fundraising efforts visit the KCC website or contact Marcus at kccslumproject@gmail.com. Better still volunteer on the IVHQ Kenya teaching program and request to work at KCC school. Fundraise before you go and help this project directly! This project (the KCC project) prefers volunteers for at least one month duration.
